TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. VARIABLES
General:
1.1 Competition open to Australian residents only.
1.2 Promoter: News Digital Media (Condition 12)
1.3 Commencement time: 8.00 am AEST
1.4 Commencement date: Thursday, 19th August 2010
1.5 Closing time: 12.00 pm AEST
1.6 Closing date: Wednesday, 22nd September 2010 (Condition 6)
1.7 Draw time: 3pm AEST
1.8 Draw date: Friday, 24th September 2010 (Condition 7)
1.9 Winners will be notified by Telephone, email and published on the NEWS.com.au website on Monday, 27th September 2010.

2. WHO MAY ENTER
The only persons who may enter and be awarded prizes are residents of the place specified in Condition 1.1, who are not (i) employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter or any of its agencies involved with this competition, or (ii) members of the immediate family of such employees and contractors. Spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent), whether or not they live in the same household as the employee/contractor. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. Entrants must be over the age of 18 years.

3. HOW TO ENTER & PLAY
To enter, participants must log on to http://www.news.com.au/advertorial/45-most-influential and vote once in any category, answer the question ‘Tell us why you voted for this person in 25 words or less’ and complete the entry form to be entered in the competition. All correct entries will be entered into the draw.

4. LIMITATIONS ON ENTRY
One entry per person per category (max of 5 entries per person).

5. DURATION
The competition commences at the Sydney, Australia time specified in Condition 1.3 on the date specified in Condition 1.4. Entries must be received by the Sydney, Australia time specified in Condition 1.5 on the date specified in Condition 1.6.

6. SELECTION OF WINNERS
There will 5 prize draws with one winner in each draw. All Victorian & Tasmanian entries will be entered in Draw 1; all NSW & ACT entries will be entered in Draw 2; all SA entries will be entered in Draw 3; all WA entries will be entered in Draw 4 & all Queensland & NT entries will be entered in Draw 5. All eligible entries received between 8am 19th August 2010 and 12pm 22nd September 2010 will be entered into the draw.

7. PRIZE
Draw 1 - Melbourne - TOTAL VALUE: $1,000 - valid for 6 months
Stay at Sofitel, Melbourne: Voucher for one nights accommodation and breakfast for two, to the value of $500
Dinner at Vue De Monde: Dinner voucher for two, to the value of $500
Draw 2 - Sydney - TOTAL VALUE: $1,000 - valid for 6 months
Stay at Shangri La, Sydney: Voucher for one night in a Deluxe Darling Harbour View Room + breakfast for two, to the value of $400
Dinner at Quay, Circular Quay: Dinner voucher for two, to the value of $600
Draw 3 - Adelaide - TOTAL VALUE: $1,000 - valid for 6 months                                                             
Stay at Intercontinental, Adelaide: Voucher for one night stay + breakfast for two to the value of $600. Dinner at Auge Ristorante: Dinner voucher for two to the value of $400.
Draw 4 - Perth - TOTAL VALUE $1,000 - valid for 6 months
Stay at the Sheraton : Voucher for night and breakfast for two, to the value of $600
Dinner at Restaurant Amuse: Dinner voucher for two - degustation & matching wine, to the value of $400
Draw 5 - Brisbane - TOTAL VALUE: $1,000 - valid for 6 months
Stay at Sofitel: Voucher for one night in a Luxury Club Room & breakfast for two to the value of $600.
Dinner at Restaurant Two: Voucher for the Degustation menu with matching wines for two, to the value of $400.

Each prize is valid for 6 months after the draw date. Restaurant and accommodation bookings are subject to availability. Prize winners are recommended to book both restaurant and hotel as early as possible to ensure availability. The prize does not cover any travel or other travel costs incurred. All components of the prize must be taken together. In the case that a prize is not available in the winner’s Australian capital city, winners are eligible for the prize in their closest city however transfers and transport is not provided- it will be the winner and his/her companion’s responsibility for travel to the prize destination. Meals and tips, transfer fees (other than specified) domestic travel to and from departure point, and any other personal expenses and travel insurances must be paid for by the winner. If for any reason the winner is unable to accept the prize as stated, and between the dates indicated, the winner will forfeit the prize and no compensation will be given in lieu.
Value of prizes in each Draw is $1,000. Total Prize pool valued at $5,000 (the prize value is correct at time of printing)

8. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PUBLICATION
8.1 The winner will be notified by telephone and email and their name, state of residence and competition answer will be published on the NEWS.com.au website on Monday, 27th September 2010.
The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of a winner being unable to satisfy these terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a Prize. If a Prize remains unclaimed, or is forfeited through ineligibility or otherwise the Promoter will conduct a further draw/s at the same time and place as the original draw on Friday, 14 January 2011 subject to any applicable law. Any winner will be notified by phone, in writing.

9. OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES
All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter and selected entries will be published on the NEWS.com.au website. Opt-ins becomes the property of Hyundai Motor Company Australia.

10. PUBLICITY
10.1. Each winner consents to the use of his or her name and state of residence for promotional and marketing purposes and agrees to participate in reasonable promotional activities as requested by the Promoter.
10.2 All entrants agree to have competition answers used for publicity purposes.

11. INTERNET
If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON A WEBSITE, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION, MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

I've been trying to enter this one for a few days - I've tried IE and Firefox, but it won't let me put anything other than NSW or QLD as my state. Can anyone else get the entry site to work?  :(

Hi deejay - works fine for me on Firefox. Have you tried to clear history and cookies and start again? (Or another computer if you have access to one) Others may have better ideas :-)

This worked fine today - I think they fixed the problem, cos I tried different computers earlier and they all had the same problem.  :)
