It's a big world outside!

Madman is proud to bring everyone’s favourite grubby gardening gal to DVD! The exciting new series shaking up children’s television, dirtgirlworld, will be available on DVD from 1 September 2010.

Perfect for 3 to 7 year olds, dirtgirlworld has a strong environmental focus and invites parents who want to grow with their children to step outside and have a go! dirtgirl grows awesome tomatoes, knows cloud names and drives a big orange tractor.

Her world - dirtgirlworld - is brought vividly to life in this new series which mixes live action, animation and photo montage to make its larger than life characters come alive. Helping dirtgirl are her friends scrapboy, grubby, ken the weevil, roger the rooster and the chicks, hayman the scarecrow, and the green thumbs - real kids in real gardens having unreal fun.

Dirtgirlworld’s aim is to move children from simply ‘viewing’ to really ‘doing‘. Even dirtgirl’s garden has been designed to mirror what an ideal real-life permaculture garden should look like! Every dirtgirlworld product is manufactured to be sustainable, organic, low waste, energy smart, eco-packed & people friendly. The DVD release will see a groundbreaking Australian first - the first sustainable kids DVD release with recycled DVD sleeves, shrinkwrap and cases all adhering to best practice environmental standards.

An international Aussie success story, the top rating dirtgirlworld is currently airing on ABC TV in Australia, Sprout in the USA, CBS in Canada and BBC in the UK. It has been nominated for a TV Week Logie Award (Most Outstanding Children’s Program 2010) and a Prix Jeunesse - the highest international accolade in children’s television. The imaginative team of Cate McQuillen and Hewey Eustace from mememe productions create and produce the entire show ‘down on the farm’, in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. The series is co-produced with Toronto-based Decode Entertainment. The animation is conceived and designed by mememe and Sydney’s Hackett Films (the same creative geniuses who produced the award winning Dissociatives video clips in 2007) and Canadian-based animation house Spin VFX.

The dirtgirlworld family is passionate about giving back to the kids and a percentage of all dirtgirlworld royalties will be donated to the dirtgirlworld fund, which will support local projects that help children live a sustainable lifestyle.
