Foreshore Sound Search Terms & Conditions

   1. Local bands and DJs can enter this competition at OutInCanberra.com.au before 5pm 12/10/10
   2. Voting will launch 9am, 15/10/10 and the public will have the opportunity to browse bands, DJs, listen to tracks and vote. Voting closes 5pm, 8/11/10.
   3. On 10/11/10 the top 4 voted DJs and the top 4 voted bands will be announced via kicksentertainment.com.au, Foreshorefestival.com.au and outincanberra.com.au.
   4. On 12/11/10 the top 4 voted DJs and the top 4 voted bands will play a live set at Academy Nightclub. This will be judged by a panel of judges consisting of representatives from Kicks, OutinCanberra and invited guests.
   5. Winners will be announced on the night, and promoted the following day via kicksentertainment.com.au, Foreshorefestival.com.au and outincanberra.com.au
   6. The winner from both categories will play at Foreshore 2010 and receive all the hospitality that come with being a performer Foreshore Summer Music Festival.

 

 
Voting Period

Users will be able to view DJs/Bands, stream their music and vote for their favourite.

The voting campaign will run from 9am, 15/10/10 - 5pm, 8/11/10.

OutInCanberra and Kicks do not accept any liability for website technical difficulties, nor will any website difficulties effect the outcome of the competition.

All voters will go in the draw to win a double VIP pass to Foreshore 2010. Money can't buy VIP tickets to Foreshore which includes VIP entry, access to the private VIP bar, private amenities, VIP stage viewing and seating area. The winning voter will be announced on 13/11/10 by phone and email.

 
Finals

The top four voted bands will be announced on 10/11/10 and will perform at the finals at Academy Nightclub in Canberra on 12/11/10. Each band will play a 30-minute set.

Winners will be contacted by a Kicks representative once counting has concluded.

Judges will be using the following methods and ratings on a 1 – 10 scale for each item:

1. Originality of content

2. Live Performance Skills

3. Crowd Interaction

4. Crowd Reaction

The prize

The winning band and the winning DJ will play on stage at Foreshore 2010.

 
Key Dates

The top four voted winners from each category will perform live on 12/11/10 at Academy Nightclub, Bunda Street, Canberra at 9pm.

 
Playing Times

Both band and DJ’s will be allocated 30 minutes to perform.

 
Equipment

Supplied on stage will be:

 

· Drum mics

· Drum Kit

· Bass DI

· Bass Amp Rig

· Keyboard DI

· Guitar DI

· Guitar amp mic x 2

· Vocal mic x 4

· 4 sends foldback

 

All bands will play on top quality PA mixed by our sound engineers.

 

Band will need to bring their own:

Instruments (guitars, bass, keys and guitar amps). The bands should expect to be sharing backline equipment with other bands playing on the night.

 

DJ equipment will include 3 x CDJ 1000’s, a DJM800, 2 x technics 1200’s (BYO Cartridges and slip mats) and stereo booth monitors.

 
Entry Terms and Conditions

Kicks and OutInCanberra are providing a space for people to showcase their music, give their opinions and interact with one another. While encouraging this engagement, we expect all users to treat each other with respect and courtesy. You may use and contribute to the site subject to the following terms and conditions.

 

Entry Requirements- Bands/DJs must register all entry and contact details (including media-quality biography, photo and a track/song or mix) via the OutInCanberra website (www.outincanberra.com.au). It is up to the band to make sure they are informed as to the dates of the finals and the competition process.

The band/DJ member entering online warrants that he/she is authorised by each other member of the band/DJ’s to enter and to commit them to agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Individuals may not be members of more than one DJ or DJ group.

Performance Requirements - Each band/DJ must ensure it is prepared and ready to commence performance at the designated time on the night of Friday 5 November. Reasonable notice of the designated time will be given. Each band must ensure they do not exceed their performance time limit. The bands/DJs must conduct itself in such a manner as not to bring Kicks, OutInCanberra or Academy into disrepute.
Licensing and copyright

Judging Criteria - Judging criteria applied by the Judges will be as follows: Originality of content, musical performance skills, crowd interaction and crowd reaction. Judges' decisions are final.

 

The winner will be chosen on the night of 12/11/10. Winner will be announced and promoted the following day via kicksentertainment.com.au, Foreshorefestival.com.au and outincanberra.com.au

 

Limitation of Liability - The administrative arrangements outlined herein may be subject to change by Kicks Entertainment as deemed proper for the smooth running of the Band and DJ competition. No claims shall be recognised in respect to these arrangements. Kicks Entertainment has sole discretion regarding organisation of the competition including dates and times of the finals and the order in which bands will perform. While all care shall be taken in running the OutinCanberra and Foreshore band/DJ competition, sponsors are not liable to any band/DJ entering the competition, or any other person or entity, for any loss, damage or injury (including consequential loss) however caused (including negligence), as a consequence of the Forshore and OutinCanberra Band Competition.
