The following Terms & Conditions apply for The Advertiser’s “Kick start your career” promotion Competition.


1. METHOD OF ENTRY
To enter this competition participants are required to tell us why they want to win a work experience placement in 30 words, attach their cv and send to: kickstart@adv.newsltd.com.au.

Hand delivered entries will not be accepted at the offices of Advertiser Newspapers Pty Limited. 


2. DURATION OF THE PROMOTION
The promotion commences on Saturday November 10, 2010 and will run over the following:

Week 1 competition will open: 1am, Saturday, November 13 (Mix)
Week 1 competition will close: 11pm, Friday, November 26

Week 2 competition will open: 1am, Saturday, November 20 (SAJC)
Week 2 competition will close: 11pm, Friday, December 3

Week 3 competition will open: 1am, Saturday, November 27 (Westfield)
Week 3 competition will close: 11pm, Friday, December 10

Week 4 competition will open: 1am, Saturday, December 4 (Advantage SA)
Week 4 competition will close: 11pm, Friday December 17


3. NATURE AND VALUE OF THE PRIZES
Two valid entries will be chosen each week (for a total of 8 winners). The winners will receive work experience at one employer for a period of one week only. The date of the placement is to be arranged at a suitable time between the employer and the winner.

The promotion provides the winner with a money can’t buy experience.


4. PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DRAW
The winners will be drawn on the following dates:
Week 1 competition will draw: 11am, Wednesday December 1 (Mix 102.3)
Week 2 competition will draw: 11am, Wednesday December 8 (SAJC)
Week 3 competition will draw: 11am, Wednesday December 15 (Westfield)
Week 4 competition will draw: 11am, Wednesday December 22 (AdvantageSA)
 

5. METHOD OF ADVISING RESULT OF DRAW
The winners will be notified by telephone and mail by The Advertiser.


6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
a) Employees of Advertiser Newspapers Pty Limited, their families and associated companies with this promotion are ineligible to enter.  For Advertiser Newspapers Pty Limited Privacy Policy, see today's classified index page. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash equivalent. This prize does not include any other costs of a personal nature not stated. This prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the recipient is unable to use it as stated.

b) The employers as mentioned in this promotion are Mix 102.3, Westfield, SAJC and Advantage SA.

c) Any additional costs incurred by the winner, other than those which forms part of the prize, are the responsibility of the winner. The judge’s decision in relation to all aspect of the competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

d) By entering this promotion, each entrant warrants that they have truthfully and accurately completed all details correctly relating to the promotion, and that they have not withheld any information requested and that by entering the promotion and supplying the answers and information as requested by the Promoters, that the entrant has in no way been misleading or untruthful. Furthermore, each entrant acknowledges that the promotional partner reserves the right, exercisable at any time at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant from the promotion or their progress in it, should the entrant at any stage omit to supply information reasonably requested of them or supply untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details or information, or otherwise be in breach of these audition terms.

e) By entering this promotion, each entrant agrees that all information relating to the business of the employer or Advertiser Newspapers Pty Limited, of which the entrant is aware, or of which the entrant becomes aware, is the property of that relevant party, is of a confidential nature and is disclosed on the basis that the relationship between the entrant and the relevant party is a confidential relationship (Confidential Information) and the entrant agrees that they will not at any time, before, during or after the promotion divulge any of the confidential information to any person or company, including, but not only, any media entity or organisation, other than:
-  as is required to do so by law; or
-  to the entrants’ professional legal adviser; and
-  the entrant will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that all such persons to whom the confidential information is divulged maintain the same confidentiality.

The entrant acknowledges and agrees that a breach of the obligations in this clause may result in their disqualification from the audition or from progress in it. This clause does not apply to information already in the public domain without a breach by the entrant of the obligations of confidentiality in this clause.

f) The successful winner for each placement must be available to work in the placement at the time allocated by the employer. The winner must adhere to all OH&S and confidentiality agreements as outlined by the employer. This is for one week’s work experience and is unpaid. There is no guarantee of employment at the end of the work experience placement. Advertiser Newspapers Pty Limited disclaims any involvement, responsibility and liability in relation to any contract or agreement or negotiation between the employer and the winner.

g) The Promoter and its agencies associated with this Promotion are not liable and do not accept responsibility for:
i) an entry that is not received or which is received and subsequently corrupted or rejected by the Web Site server or Promoter’s service provider. This includes:
ii)  any lost, misdirected or corrupt entries to the Web Site/ Promoter’s service provider;
iii) any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained:
a.  in connection with an entrant’s participation in the Promotion or the taking of the prize, except that which cannot be excluded by law; and
b.  relating to the conduct of the Promotion however caused, including failure of the Web Site or the Promoter’s service provider or incorrect or corrupt data supplied by the Promoter to the entrant.

Entrants must be South Australia residents.

Entrants must be aged 18 years or over and be eligible to work in Australia.


7. PRIVACY
By entering this promotion, you consent to the Promoter's collection of the personal information on your entry form for the purpose of conducting the promotion. You also consent to your name being printed in The Advertiser if you are a prize winner. If you do not provide the required information, you will not be entered into the draw.
