WE'RE LOOKING FOR A LOCAL HERO


Many local communities are built on the work done by unsung heroes. This Christmas, retailers of South Melbourne are recognising their efforts by granting a Christmas wish of a $2,500 shopping spree.

The most deserving winner as judged by a local identity will be escorted by a personal shopper on Saturday 18th December to enjoy $2,500 worth of Christmas Shopping at local retailers.

Nominate someone you feel has selflessly given to our community by telling us the story of the person in question below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
How to Enter
 
2.To enter individuals must nominate someone they believe meets the criteria, during the Promotional Period:
(a) Person must be making a contribution to the South Melbourne community and donating their time and services for free
(b) visit www.southmelbourne.com and enter the requested details including their name and address and then click Ôsubmit'.
Duration of Competition
 
3.The promotion commences at 9am AEST on Wednesday 3rd November 2010 and entries close at 5pm AEDST on Wednesday 8th December 2010 (ÔPromotional Period').
Prizes
 
4.Nominations will be reviewed by Father Bob, of the Catholic Parish of Sts Peter & Paul, on Thursday ,9th December 2010.
5.The most deserving person will receive a $2500 gift card.
6.The winner will be notified in writing via post or email and contacted by telephone.
Conditions of Entry
 
7.Entry is only open to Victorian residents.
8.The Visa gift card can only be used at retailers in the South Melbourne postcode 3205.
9.Winner must be available to be escorted by a personal shopper between 9am and 4pm on Saturday December 18 to ensure they spend the prize in the South Melbourne postcode. If they are unavailable on this date the entry will be made invalid and a second draw will take place.
10.Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, participating stores and the agencies associated with the promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
11.The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with the Conditions of Entry. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
12.If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
13.The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
14.No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
15.Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not take the prize, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.
16.Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
17.Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
18.If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
19.Entrants must retain their original purchase receipt(s) for all entries as proof of purchase. Failure to produce the proof of purchase for all entries when requested will, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of ALL of an entrant's entries and forfeiture of any right to a prize. Purchase receipt(s) must clearly specify a retailer within the South Melbourne postcode as the store of purchase and that the purchase was made during the promotional period but prior to entry.
20.The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
21.The laws of Australia apply to this promotion to the exclusion of any other law. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
