1st prize: $100.00 cash + $100.00 Book Abyss Gift Certificate.

2nd prize: $50.00 cash + $50.00 Book Abyss Gift Certificate.

3rd prize: $50.00 Book Abyss Gift certificate.

 

Commendations and a $20.00 Book Abyss Gift Certificate will also go to 2 entries judged to be next best.

2. May be fiction or non fiction

Winners will be chosen based on points given in relation to accepted elements of short story writing. These elements include but are not restricted to:

Punctuation
Grammar
Point of view
Adherence to voice
Sentence structure
Story structure
Focus
Engaging the reader
Word count

In fairness to all entrants, entries that exceed the word count will be imediately disqualified.

Winners will be notified by mail in the first week of June 2011. Results will also be displayed on this page.
