Q. When do you start making your NYE plans? Q. Every NYE has a theme, do you know what this year’s theme is? I'm guessing that this years theme is "Make your Mark", as per the creative director's message: Each Sydney New Year’s Eve we mark the New Year with a celebration filled with hope and excitement we share with family and friends. And there's no better place to mark this moment than in Sydney - the New Year's Eve capital of the world. This year, the start of a new decade, we make a special mark. As a Bundjalung woman, I have been inspired by the tradition of Australia’s indigenous peoples of making their mark with rock art and larrakitj carvings. These are wonderful examples of how people mark their own moments in the flow of history and leave their stories as a gift for future generations. At this time, Sydney’s amazing spirit is awoken again in a spectacular celebration. While enjoying the night, reflect on what you can do to Make Your Mark for a better future in the exciting decade to come. Our actions leave lasting impressions, so come on - celebrate and Make Your Mark.
