Title: CompFolio Question Post by: chloebowie on Thursday 16 December 2010, 06:04:05 pm I feel a little silly asking this but I haven't been able to figure it out so far...doh! Silly newbies 8)
What is the easiest way to mark a win on CompFolio? I understand I have to click the $ button but I seem to have trouble finding the posts again once I receive a wem. I search through closed competitions and I can't seem to find them or it takes me quite awhile - am I doing this wrong, is there a shortcut or is it just a matter of patience when browsing through entered, closed competitions on CompFolio. Thanks in advance :) Title: Re: CompFolio Question Post by: tigers on Friday 17 December 2010, 08:24:10 pm My method is basically the same as yours :)
I usually try the search box first by entering a few keywords. Then if I have no luck, I do a search in compfolio for comps that are: - closed; and - marked as entered; and - any extra details I can remember (for example email entry or webform etc.) Next I put the results in order of 'Closing Date', starting from the comps that have closed most recently, and then go through each page until I (hopefully!) find it. Title: Re: CompFolio Question Post by: JBMarigold on Saturday 18 December 2010, 03:56:59 pm If you keep a manual record, such as a Word document of all your works of brilliance with the question and closing date included, you can also scour that day in the Calendar.
Helps if your Compfolio search turns up 31 pages in a search! Title: Re: CompFolio Question Post by: chloebowie on Tuesday 28 December 2010, 01:29:33 pm Thats a great idea, JBMarigold! Thanks :D At the moment I keep my entries, but not the dates *doh*
Title: Re: CompFolio Question Post by: helga22 on Saturday 08 January 2011, 11:32:41 am I regularly browse through my marked as entered comps and change the status of the closed comps to closed.
So when I win something I first use the search function; several comps may come up for the same or a similar prize. But I may have entered only one, because the other comps were too 'hard' to enter. It is now easy to find out which one is the right comp because of the 'entered' tick or because of the different promoter. If I can't find the comp using the search function; then I will browse through my comps marked 'not won' which are far less than the whole 'closed' comps. I hope this helps. Title: Re: CompFolio Question Post by: Administrator on Saturday 08 January 2011, 11:51:43 am Just a reminder that the Mods clear out the 'Closed comps' section from time-to-time, basically removing very old competitions once they expire.
If you had previously marked a comp as 'Entered' or 'Won', it will still keep a tally of your records even if this comp was removed and does not exist anymore. For this reason, Compminder may sometimes show an X amount of comps tagged as a particulat type (won, entered etc..) but if you try to list them, some of them (the ones that have been deleted) won't be listed. |
