Terms & Conditions
1. Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional advertisements
form part of these terms and conditions.
2. To enter the “Subscribe and Win a Trip to Singapore” promotion, subscribe to home delivery of The West Australian
and/or The Weekend West by calling the number published in The West Australian/The Weekend West or go online
at thewest.com.au/homedelivery. All entries to be received by us before 12pm, Friday December 24, 2010.
3. The “Subscribe and Win a Trip to Singapore” promotion is open to all WA residents aged 18 and over living in a home
delivery service area and have subscribed to The West Australian and/or The Weekend West. Proof of age will be required.
4. Subject to clause 22, valid entries consist of new home delivery customers signing up for home delivery online at
thewest.com.au/homedelivery or by calling 1800 811 855 before 12pm Friday December 24 2010 during the
promotional period and quoting ‘Singapore’.
5. Subject to clause 22, valid entries are also existing home delivery customers who are registered on The West
Australian home delivery database. Existing home delivery customers DO NOT need to enter via online or telephone. If
you would like to confirm you are registered on this list please contact Customer Services Team on 1800 811 855 at
The West Australian.
6. To be eligible for entry to the “Subscribe and Win a Trip to Singapore” competition, all new subscribers must have the
home delivery of The West Australian and/or The Weekend West start date confirmed prior to the prize draw. Only
confirmed new subscribers and existing home delivery customers will be entered into the draw.
7. The winner’s draw will take place at 10am, Wednesday January 5, 2011 at The West Australian offices. The winner will
be drawn randomly from all valid online, phone entries and existing Home Delivery database. The Promoter will contact
all online home delivery enquiries to confirm their subscription requirements. To ensure entrants are eligible for the
prize draw, they must respond and confirm their home delivery subscription 24 hours prior to the 10am Singapore draw
on Wednesday January 5, 2011.
8. The winner will be notified by telephone and published in The West Australian on Thursday January 6, 2011. In the
instance that the winner cannot be contacted on the phone number provided within five (5) working days, the prize will
be forfeited and a new winner will be drawn.
9. The winner will receive the following travel prize package for two people to Singapore including return economy
flights with Jetstar departing Perth international airport, four nights’ accommodation at the Parkroyal on Beach Rd in
a Superior room including king size bed and transfers, a night out in Chinatown with dinner and Trishaw Ride including
transportation by air conditioned vehicle, English speaking guide, dinner, and entrance fees and $500 spending money
provided for the trip. Total prize package value is $3,000 incl. GST.
10. The above travel accommodation package is based on low season travel. Package must be booked between: 9 February
– 14 March 2011, 2011, 16 May -1 July 2011, 1 August - 24 September 2011, 24 October - 23 November 2011 (subject
to availability).Flight changes not permitted on packages. Minimum cancellation fee of $650 applies to packages plus
any additional fee imposed by wholesaler/hotel/tour operator at time of cancellation. Please note day tours are nonrefundable.
Amendment fees to land arrangements charged at $50 per booking amendment.
11. If the winner is unable to travel within the specified dates, the winner's prize will be forfeited; dates and vouchers can
not be extended. The winner and their guest must travel together on the same flight. All costs associated with changes
to flight and accommodation details once booked are the responsibility of the winner.
12. A valid passport is required for all international journeys. The winner and guest must bring their passport into Flight
Centre prior to the trip to ensure the details are correct. The passport must have at least 6 months (180 days) validity
from the return date into Australia. The prize winner and travelling companion are responsible for obtaining all
necessary travel documents (eg valid passport, Australian re-entry permit, visas) and complying with all health or other
government regulations. Information available at www.dfat.gov.au.
13. Travel Insurance is not included. Any additional costs incurred will be at the expense of the winner including all other
meals and other transfers not included in the prize package outlined in clause 9.
14. It is the winner’s responsibility to make their own way to Perth to claim/redeem their prize.

16. Prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of participating service providers.
17. The Prize must be taken as stated and is non-transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash.
18. It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name and suburb published for publicity purposes if
required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the
requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.
19. All subscribers release from, and indemnify the Promoter against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of
acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal
injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission
or otherwise.
20. The Promoter and associated agencies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting
from the promotion.
21. Participation in the competition constitutes the entrant’s unconditional agreement to and acceptance of the Terms and
Conditions. The Entrant is responsible for insuring his or her familiarity with the Terms and Conditions. The Promoter’s
decision not to enforce a specific restriction does not constitute a waiver of that restriction or of the Terms and
Conditions generally.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the winner has breached any of the Terms and Conditions. The
winner forgoes the prize if its entry is misleading or if the winner does not adhere to the Terms and Conditions.
23. Employee’s of the Promoter, their subsidiaries and immediate family are ineligible to enter.
24. The Promoter’s decision is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The West Australian
reserves the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice.
