I've told you before and I'll tell you again. I love me a good Disney movie. Especially when it involves princesses and fairy tales. So we are all very excited that next month sees the Australian release of Tangled,  the latest fairy tale from Disney retelling the story of Rapunzel. A pretty princess, a handsome prince, comedy, action, romance, lots of hair  - looks like it has covered all bases for my little ones. But that doesn't surprise me as Disney just know how to retell a fairy tale for the little ones and still keep the adults happy. Here is the trailer which my little ones want to watch again and again.........and then some more...

And since there is boy against girl competition in the movie, we were asked to have a little family competition pitting girls against boys to see who would win. I had a good think and one of our favourite activities is sushi train and seeing who eats the most plates. Retro daddy and I used to play this while dating! And so off we went to our favourite sushi train, 3 girls against 2 boys. Don't mess with this girl and her chopsticks.

And let's just say we were up against some tough competition - 2 boys with big appetites as Finn is my plate clearer who learnt from the master....retro daddy.

It was all going well until I made a serious error in judgement picking up something I thought was salmon, retro daddy thought was tofu and was actually a cold chip (as in the potato kind) covered in sweet sticky sauce with sesame seeds. I had to leave that plate uneaten.

Fusion gone wrong. I don't know who thought up that baby but it was bad..............not in a good way.


Anyway the final scores were tallied - a total of 20 plates, $64 at the register, 2 chopsticks and 1 inari on the floor, no soy sauce on clothes, 11 plates to the boys and 9 to the girls... boys win.

So Tangled is due for release in Australia on  January 6 and I can't wait to take the whole family! I know we aren't alone in our love of Disney movies so am sure lots of you will be out at the cinemas too.............. and you can win 1 of 2 family passes for 4 right here at Retro Mummy (yes that's 2 family passes just for my lovely readers).....just by telling me your all time favourite Disney movie and why. Terms and Conditions of Entry for Tangled Giveaway.

1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these conditions. Entry into this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.

2. The Promoter is Nuffnang Australia Pty Ltd ACN 133 905 647 of 28 St Edmonds Road, Prahran VIC 3181 (“Promoter”).

3. The Promotion will be open from 12:01 am Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (“AEDST”) on Tuesday 21 December, 2010 and will continue until 5:00 pm AEDST on Sunday 9 January, 2011 (“Promotion Period”).

4. Entry is open to all Australian residents, aged 14 years and over, other than management, employees or contractors of the Promoter and other agencies, firms or companies associated with the Promotion (including suppliers of prize), and their immediate families (“Eligible Entrants”).

6. Two winners will be chosen from all the entries made on each of the participating blogs. The owner of each participating blog will choose their (3) favourite entries on their blog, in accordance with the competition criteria. From this list of shortlisted entries from each participating blog, the Nuffnang judges will choose two winners per blog. The winners will be the entry deemed most creative and practical by the judges.

7. The prizes for each blog taking part consist of x2 Family Passes (4 tickets) to see Tangled in movie theatres around Australia from January 6, 2011 onwards.

8. The winner will be the entries deemed most creative by the judges.

9. The judges’ decision (including any decisions as to prize distribution) is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.

10. The winner will be notified via their preferred contact method, and will be asked to provide their email and contact phone number at that time. If they do not respond to the notification within 48 hours, Nuffnang reserves the right to select another winner.

11. To claim the prize, the winner must reply to the winner notification and accept the prize within 48 hours of the blog notification, as well as indicate their preferred address for the [prize] to be sent. If the winner does not respond within 48 hours, they will forfeit the prize, and another winner will be selected using the same judging process.

12. The results will be published on the Nuffnang Australia website, the Nuffnang Australia Facebook page and Twitter account. Nuffnang Australia and Disney also reserve the right to publish the results, including a photo of the winner, in the media.

13. Nuffnang Australia’s business directors, management and employees, their immediate families, their retailers, suppliers, associated companies and agencies are ineligible. Disney’s business directors, management and employees, their immediate families, their retailers, suppliers, associated companies and agencies are ineligible.

14. Nuffnang Australia reserves the right to change these terms and conditions. If any changes are made Nuffnang Australia will notify the public via its website.
