WIN $5,000 short story competition Game of Skill Terms and Conditions for the Country Style – What’s your story? Competition 1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. Entries must comply with these conditions to be valid. 2. Entry is open to Australia and New Zealand residents of aged 18 years or older. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter this competition. 3. To enter participants must email their story, along with name, address and telephone number to austcountrystyle@newsmagazines.com.au. Or post a typewritten copy to STORY, Country Style, Locked bag 5030, Alexandria, NSW 2015. The entries which will not be returned must be no longer than 1500 words and previously unpublished. Please use a 10- point font with 1.5 line spacing. Your story can involve any situation but must incorporate ‘south’ as a major or minor motif. 4. The competition commences at 00.01 (AEST) on Wednesday 22nd December 2010 and closes at 23.59 (AEST) on Wednesday 30th March 2011 (“Entry Period”). Multiple entries will be accepted, however, each entry must be sent in as a separate correspondence. 5. This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All entries will be judged individually on their merits based on creativity. The best entry as determined by the judges, will win a prize. 6. Judging will take place from 2:00pm (AEST) on Friday 15th April 2011 at News Magazines 180 Bourke Road, Alexandria, NSW 2015. Entries will be judged by Country Style editor Victoria Carey and author Cate Kennedy. 7. The winner will be notified by phone and mail within 14 days of the judge’s decision. 8. Entrants confirm and promise that their entry is original has not been published before and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. 9. The entry judged to be the best will win; a) $5000 cash b) Their story will be published in the June 2011 issue of Country Style magazine 10. Total Prizes are valued at $5000 11. Entries must be received by the promoter during the Entry Period. Entries received after the end date and time will not count towards the competition. 12. In the event that the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value. 13. Prizes are not transferable. The judges’ decision is final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries deemed void if forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way will be excluded from winning a prize. 14. Once the prize has left the Promoters premises they are not responsible for any late, or damage caused during delivery of the prize. 15. It is the Participants responsibility to contact the promoter with any changes in personal details. 16. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter.
