FASHION full stop PHOTO COMPETITION
Re-live the moments in fashion that shaped your style today. We are looking for your favourite fashion moment, whether it be a special occasion, a party, the races, a travel adventure or even your first day at school or work!

Send in a photo of yourself, friends or family from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s to now, where you look dressed for success. We’ll publish the best pictures every Saturday in the Herald Sun Weekend section throughout January before selecting the winner, this is your opportunity to make your favourite photo famous!

Submit your picture and you could win:

The L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival team will be looking through all of the pictures and may even select your picture and your outfit (if you still have it) to feature at their launch event, FASHION full stop.

The LMFF Launch will celebrate iconic designers, labels, styles and moments that have shaped this nation’s history in fashion, decade by decade, from the 1960s to today at FASHION full stop: Decades of Australian Fashion. It will be a feast for the senses with music, screen, light and sound, producing Australia’s first ever complete fashion celebration. Think of a fashion runway, mixed in with a rock concert, and a touch of theatrics; as well as featuring the highest caliber of celebrity models, live musicians, DJ’s, dancers, performers and maybe you!

Submit your picture to be in the running to win the ultimate fashion prize and be a part of this great event.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


1.   The Promoters of this competition are The Herald & Weekly Times Pty Limited (ABN: 49 004 113 937) of 40 City Road, Southbank VIC 3006 (HWT) and the Melbourne Fashion Festival Limited (ABN 93 074 236 294) of Level 2, 175 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000 (MFF).

2.   Entry requirements:

•   Entry is open to Victorian residents who are legal residents of Australia. Employees and immediate family of the Promoters and their agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. 

3.   Competition opens at 12.01 am on Saturday January 8, 2011 and closes 11.59pm on Sunday January 30, 2011 (Competition Period). 

4.   Instructions on how to enter and all prize details form part of the conditions of entry.  By entering, entrants accept these conditions.

5.   To be eligible to enter the competition entrants must, during the Competition Period, send in a photograph along with the following onto the competition page heraldsun.com.au/fashion:

6.   The following conditions apply:
•   Photographs must not contain any offensive or defamatory material.
•   Any computer images produced by Photoshop are not eligible to enter the competition.
•   Photographs must be previously unpublished.
•   No images supplied in hard copy will be accepted; only digital files will be accepted.
•   Image file must be a minimum size of 500K and a maximum of 5MB.
•   Upon receipt of entries, they become the property of the Promoters and will not be returned to the entrants. Entrants should keep a copy of their entry.
•   The entrants irrevocably consent and grant a non-exclusive licence to the Promoters publishing any photograph in the Herald Sun and on www.heraldsun.com.au/fashion or on MFF promotional material or www.lmff.com.au and to their storage on an electronic database for use for promotional purposes at no cost to HWT or MFF.
•   If the Promoters are unable to publish or otherwise use a photograph submitted as part of this competition for any reason that is beyond the control of the Promoters, that entry will be excluded and the entrant is not eligible to be awarded a prize.
•   The prize winner must, at the Promoters’ request, participate in all promotional    activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the winning of the prize,    free of charge, and they consent to the Promoters using their name and image in    promotional material.

7.   All entries received which adhere to the conditions of entry will be considered.  Judging will be to assess the entries and their garment/photo’s suitability to be included in the FASHION full stop Launch Event and each entry will be judged on its merits. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. The Promoters’ decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

8.   Entrants who select “Yes” on the submission form to the question: “Do you consent to your outfit and/or photo being used in the LMFF FASHION full stop launch event?” subsequently give consent for MFF to use their photo and/or garment in the LMFF FASHION full stop Launch event in a manner that is at the discretion of MFF organisers.

9.   The Promoters reserve the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with or benefits from tampering with the entry process or the operation of the competition or who submits an entry which is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.  Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid and will not be included in the draw. The Promoters accept no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise that is beyond the control of the Promoters.  The Promoters have no control over the Internet, networks or lines and accept no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise.  The Promoters are not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred.

10.   The Promoters do not accept responsibility for any late, lost, damaged or misdirected entries.

11.   The winner will receive:
•   2 LMFF Passport tickets to the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, March 14-20 2011. Each LMFF Passport includes*:
o   1 ticket to FASHION full stop Launch Event
o   1 VIP seat at Sidewalk (show to be advised by MFF)
o   1 ticket to a L’Oreal Paris Runway (show to be advised by MFF)
o   1 ticket to an Offsite Runway (show to be advised by MFF)
o   1 ticket to National Graduate Showcase
o   1 ticket to a marie claire & L’Oreal Paris Beauty Workshop (show to be advised by MFF)
•   $1,000 David Jones voucher
•   Mimco bag, valued at over $500
•   L’Oreal Paris make-up pack, valued at $300

*MFF will notify winner to the specific show dates and times via email by March 1, 2011.

12.   The prize is strictly as stated in clause 11. The prize is not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoters take no responsibility for any lost, stolen or misdirected prizes which are not as a result of fault of the Promoters.  The Promoters will not be responsible if the prize or any part of the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoters’ control.  Where any prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoters reserve the right to substitute that prize for a prize of equal value at the publishing date. 

13.   The winner will be notified by phone and email. The name and postcode of residence of the winner will also be published in the Herald Sun Public Notices on February 4, 2011.

14.   The winning entrant acknowledges that he or she attends any LMFF events during March 14-20, 2011 at his or her own risk.

15.   The Promoter does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) or equivalent State or Territory legislation which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.  However, the Promoter excludes all rights, remedies, conditions and warranties in respect of goods or services from your use of this site, your entry into this competition or your enjoyment of the prize whether based in statute, common law or otherwise to the extent permitted by law.  To the full extent permitted by the law, the Promoters exclude liability for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered or sustained (including, but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion. To the extent permitted by law, the eight shortlisted entrants and the winning entrant must exclude, release and forever discharge the Promoters, and all other persons involved in the conduct, promotion and organisation of this promotion, and their respective employees, officers, agents and contractors from all liability for claims, loss, damage, cost or expenses (whether arising under statute, from negligence, personal injury, death, property damage, infringement of third party rights or otherwise) arising from or in connection with the participation in the promotion.

16.   All entries will be the property of the Promoters.  The Promoters are bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in relation to the handling of personal information. The Promoters will collect entrants’ personal information for the purposes of conducting this promotion.
