To enter simply tell us in 25 words or less why you would like to attend the Annie Leibovitz exhibition. The winner must be available to fly to Sydney on February 9, 2011. MCA COMPETITION 1. Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry. 2. Entry is open to residents of Australia aged 18 and over only. Participants under the age of 18 years are not entitled to enter the Competition or participate in the Prize. Employees of the Promoter, and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Employees of MCA and their immediate family members, MCA’s advertising agencies, website designers associated with this Competition and/or this Website, other relevant agencies, and their related entities are also not eligible to enter. Only one entry per person will be permitted. 3. The promotional period opens January 3, 2011 and closes 11:59pm (AEST) on February 6, 2011. The judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises and will begin on February 6, 2011. The winners will be notified by phone and mail using contact details provided in their entry. Notification will take place by February 7, 2011. This is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit and originality. 4. To enter, individuals must describe in 25 words or less “Why you would like to attend the Annie Leibovitz exhibition.” Submit your completed entry as instructed. Entry must be emailed to www.madisonmag.com.au during the promotional period, with full name, address, email and daytime telephone number. Individuals must submit their completed entry as instructed. 5. The judges’ decision in relation to all aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised by the entrant, each entrant consents to the information they submit with their entry being entered into a database and the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment to the entrant. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter. 6. Total prize pool is valued at a minimum of $ 1,000 (depending on state of redemption). The best entry as determined by the judges will win an exclusive invitation to the cocktail reception and private exhibition viewing with Annie Leibivitz at the MCA, 2 x tickets to the exhibition and an exhibition catalogue, $1000 spending money on a Commonwealth Bank Debit MasterCard, 2 x economy airfares from any Australian capital city to Sydney on Qantas Airways and one nights accommodation in a Deluxe Opera House City view Room for two at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney. Prize does not include any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize. These are the responsibility of the winner. Prize must be taken to coincide with the event currently scheduled to take place on 9th February 2011. All components of prize must be taken together as a package. If the winner is a resident of Sydney, the flight component of the prize will not be included. 7.Qantas prize tickets are valid for air travel only, and are not applicable on any other services such as accommodation, travel insurance, or any other ancillary services. Other conditions may apply. 8. Qantas prize tickets are valid for Economy Class air travel only, and are only available on Qantas flights and will be subject to Economy-class availability. The winners and their nominated travel companions must travel together on the same flights on all sectors (stopovers are not permitted). 9. Qantas prize tickets are valid on services operated by Qantas Airways Limited only. The tickets cannot be used on services which are operated by another airline but which have a QF flight number (known as 'codeshare services'); they CANNOT be used on Jetstar services. 10.Meals, travel insurance, taxes, transfers, transport to and from departure ports and all other travel documentation and costs are the responsibility of the winner. 11.Qantas Prize tickets are not upgradeable with cash or Frequent Flyer points. Travel is to be in the class and category specified in condition 8 only. 12.Stopovers are not permitted. Where a destination includes an overnight stop (due to unavailability of connecting air services), accommodation will be at the winner’s expense. 13.Qantas Airways is not responsible for any arranging or paying for any additional or ancillary costs associated with travel on the prize flights, including travel insurance, government taxes (including departure taxes) or airport charges or spending money. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and any travelling companion have any necessary travel documents (such as passport, visa, etc) and that you comply with any relevant health or other governmental requirements. 14.Frequent Flyer points cannot be earned or accumulated in respect of prize flights. 15.Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prizewinner and companion. 16.Any ‘GST’ as defined in the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth) imposed on the supply of the prize ticket(s) must be paid to Qantas separately by the prize winner at the time of booking the ticket(s) for the prize flights. 17.The Qantas Conditions of Carriage will apply to your prize flights (if there is any inconsistency, the Qantas Conditions of Carriage will apply to the extent of the inconsistency). 18.Booking fees may apply. 19. When the winner receives the $1000 spending money on a Commonwealth Bank Debit MasterCard, if the winner is a Commonwealth bank customer with a Debit MasterCard transaction account/Streamline transaction account or NetBank Saver, the Bank will transfer the money into their existing account within five working days of being notified of the winner’s name. If the winner is not a customer, a Debit MasterCard transaction account/Streamline transaction account or Netbank Saver account will be opened in their name. This will require the winner to visit their local branch and complete an identity check and an account being opened. Allow three business days for the Account to be opened. On establishment of the account, Commonwealth Bank will transfer the $1000 prize within five working days. 20. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered in the event that the scheduled event is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled or relocated for any reason whatsoever. 21. The prize is not transferable, non-refunable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash, credit or other goods and services. 22. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the winner. 23. Entries not completed in accordance with the rules and conditions or received after the closing date will not be considered. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. 24. Prize is valued in Australian dollars. Where prize is awarded in the form of a voucher/letter/ticket or pass, the Promoter shall not be liable for any voucher/letter/ticket or pass that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way. Redemption of voucher/letters/ticket/pass is subject to terms and conditions stipulated on voucher/letter/ticket/pass. 25. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; (f) participation in the promotion and/or (g) redemption of a prize. 26. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to reference to all relevant state and territory regulations) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. 27. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to (a) disqualify any entrant; and/or (b) subject to any written direction given by a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the promotion, as appropriate.
