Competition held NSW, QLD, VIC, WA on 5/2/11 Call of Duty: Black Ops Competition 05.02.2011 National Call to Duty Black Ops gaming challenge targeted at Hyper and PC Powerplay readers and our own inquiry database. Local Times: Perth - 9.00 am Brisbane - 11.00 am Sydney - 12.00 pm Melbourne - 12.00 pm Locations: Qantm Perth Level 1, 3-5 Bennett St East Perth WA 6004 Qantm Brisbane Level 10, 138 Albert Street Brisbane QLD 4000 Qantm Sydney Level 3, 74-78 Wentworth Avenue Surry Hills NSW 2010 Qantm Melbourne 235 Normanby Road South Melbourne VIC 3205 Tournament Structure: The tournament will consist of four rounds, with a total of eight games. Round 1 Round 2 State Final Grand Final Each game will consist of 8 competitors. The top four players (deciphered according to highest number of kills) in games played during rounds one and two will proceed to the next round. The winner of the Final round will be titled State Champion and will then proceed to the national Final that will be conducted via server (sourced by hyper). Each game during Rounds One and Two will go for 15 minutes long with a 5-minute change over. State and National Finals will run for 30 minutes. Activision will provide Call to Duty Black Ops for download with the individual ghost keys by the 31st on January. Each campus will need to arrange Call to Duty Black Ops to be downloaded and installed on each computer that will be used during the tournament. This should be done as early as possible prior to event to enable ample time for workstation testing. It is also recommended that each campus arrange a big screen projection of the game to allow resting competitors the opportunity to watch on. FIRST TASK? Register Now! Spaces are limited Terms and Conditions: The National Champion will receive a fully paid, full time placement for the first year of the Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment, with choice of majoring in Games Design or Games Programming. Course must be commenced between February 2011 and February 2012. Entrants must be at least 17 years of age. The scholarship winner may enrol at any Australian campus of their choosing. The scholarship winner must remain at a single campus for the duration of their scholarship. This scholarship is non-transferable and is available only to the selected winner. In order for the scholarship to remain valid, the scholarship winner must pass every trimester. Applicants and students who are set to commence first year studies in the February 2011 intake are eligible for the scholarship prize. Current Qantm students are ineligible for the scholarship prize. Domestic entrants only are eligible for the scholarship prize. The scholarship winner must:Complete a Qantm application form and return it to their campus of choice.Meet the following Qantm College entry requirements:Proof of Australian or New Zealand citizenship such as a birth certificate and driver's license OR a passport.Proof of high school completion such as an HSC or Certificate IV (not applicable if winner is over 21 years of age) |
