Title: Town Hall missing fans trial - City Rail Survey - Win prize of MY Train Monthly Post by: oldfellow on Monday 24 January 2011, 06:00:49 am http://www.cityrail.info/news/2010/101201-fan
Town Hall misting fans trial Posted: Wednesday 1 December 2010 We're trialling a 'cool zone' on Town Hall Station platforms 1 and 2 to improve your journey in the afternoons over the summer months. The cool zone uses misting fans to blow microscopic water particles through a high-powered fan. The water particles are so fine that once they hit the warm air, they evaporate. This has a cooling effect on the temperature. The water used in the misting fan system is Sydney tap water. It has no additional treatments. Similar systems are also used at some train stations in Europe as well as indoor sporting areas, public halls and warehouses. Be heat smart this summer When you're travelling on the CityRail network this summer, be heat smart and remember: •If you start to feel unwell, don't get on a train. Ask a staff member for help. •If you are on a train and feel unwell, alight at the next station. Ask a staff member for help. •Always carry a bottle of water with you. Cool idea?
