Award categories
Visual Arts: $1000 Acquisitive Award and $250 Highly Commended
Digital Media: $1000 Scholarship and $250 Highly Commended
Literature: $1000 Scholarship and $250 Highly Commended
Performing Arts: $1000 Scholarship and $250 Highly Commended
Applications are open to residents of the City of Greater Bendigo aged 25 years and under on
13 April, 2011.
Entrants must complete an Application Form, either:
· online: www.yobendigo.com.au/
· or hard copy, page 4 of this document
and submit entry as per guidelines on pages 2 and 3.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
· Awards will be judged by a panel of arts professionals
· Applicants may submit one entry only in each category
· Applicants may enter more than one category
· The Judges' decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into
· All sections of Application Form must be completed
· Winners will be announced at the Raw Arts Exhibition opening Thursday 14 April, or notified
by phone
· Works submitted for exhibition are subject to selection and availability of space. Every effort
will be made to exhibit all works but no guarantees are given
· Whilst every precaution will be taken with entries, no responsibility for any loss or damage will
be accepted by Community & Cultural Development or the curator.
IMPORTANT DATES
Applications close Friday 25th March 2011, 5pm.
Entrants completing the Application Form online will be posted a Confirmation of Entry which must
be signed and returned by 10am, Tuesday 12 April.
Visual Arts: entries must be:

Collected from Dudley House, Monday 18 April 8.30-9.30am or 4.30-5.30pm,
no exceptions will be made.
Digital Media, Literature & Performing Arts: entries to be received by 25 March, 5pm.
Exhibition opening and Awards announcements will be held at 6pm on Thursday 14 April, 2011 at
Dudley House 60 View St Bendigo.
Exhibition runs Thursday 14 – Sunday 17 April, 10am-4pm.

VISUAL ART GUIDELINES
· All visual arts mediums will be considered including painting, drawing, print making, sculpture,
photography, mixed media & multimedia
· Artwork must be delivered and collected as specified (see Important Dates, page 1)
· All work must be clearly labelled with artist’s name and phone number and artwork title
attached to back of the work
· All work must be framed and ready to hang or have a plinth to display work.
DIGITAL MEDIA GUIDELINES
· All digital media formats will be accepted including short film and animation
· Digital media work must be submitted on DVD or via web address, playable on a standard
DVD player or PC
· There are no running time restrictions
· The entry must be suitable for screening up to an M classification
· The entry must not infringe copyright or defamation laws
· Applicants may contact the Arts Officer to arrange the return of DVD following the Awards
· Each DVD entry must be clearly labelled with: title, name of entrant, contact number and
running time
· Entrants agree to have their entry judged and screened at the discretion of the City of Greater
Bendigo and agree to the use of finalists entry for future promotions.
LITERATURE GUIDELINES
· Applicants must submit a piece of writing up to 2000 words (no set theme) open to all genres
including poetry, essay, and short story
· Author retains copyright but Council reserves the right to arrange for publication of winning
and selected commended entries
· Entrants are required to provide three hard copies of entry or email entry as an attachment in
Word format (.doc or .docx) or pdf
· Email entries must be sent to raw@bendigo.vic.gov.au with the subject heading “RAW Literary
entry name”
· Entries will not be returned to authors - authors should retain a copy of the original
