Race days 24 & 25 march 2011 Fashions on the Field 2010 INFORMATION - SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR TO 2011 EVENT This year there are three (3) Categories in MYER fashions on the field: •MYER Millinery Award •MYER Man of the Day •MYER Lady of the Day Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each category and judging will take place in above order. •Registration is Compulsory. Contestants can register from 11.30am untili 12.15pm at the Myer Fashions on the field judging area. •Judging to commence at 12.30pm sharp and contestants are asked to be ready at the judging area from 12pm (in front of the grandstand) The Competition: Registration is compulsory – from 11.30 on the day of judging · Contestants must ensure they fulfil the contestant criteria for entry. Those who do not meet the criteria will be eliminated at this stage. · Entry is open to all persons 18 years and over. · Contestants will be issued a number fan and will be placed in groups of 10. · As each group of 10 is issued with their number fans, they will proceed on stage for their respective heat. Heats: · A Judging panel will select their top contestants in each heat to proceed to the final · Whilst the group is still on stage, the MC will announce those successful contestants through to the finals and then the group will file off stage. · Contestants not selected for the category final, will depart the judging area and are required to hand back their numbered fan to a Myer Fashions on the Field Staff Member stage side. · Contestants selected for the final MUST KEEP their own number and remain in the judging area. Final: · 10 contestants selected from category heats will progress into the cateogory final. They will have retained their numbers from the heats and will be required to go back onto stage for final judging. · Judges will select their top 2 - 3 – issuing them with 5 3 or 1 points. This will then be tallied and a winner and runner up will be announced. · The contestant with the highest score will be winner of the 2010 Myer Fashions on the Field for their respective category and one runner-up will also be awarded. v Each category should take about 30 minutes with approximately 200 + participants v No judging is to be held while the races are on. Judging Criteria: Judges are to base their decisions on the following criteria: · NO COMPULSORIES – ie hosiery or gloves, · Contestants must be wearing shoes, · Judges will look for a COMPLETE outfit including a headpiece. Myer Millinery Award - (Hat /Fascinator / Hatinator) · Style and design of the Millinery – ie originality, concept of the design theme and wearability · Coordinaion with the outfit worn. Quality and Workmanship of the Millinery · Grooming and deportment · There will be a winner and runner up awarded in this category. Myer Man of the Day · Style and originality · Appropriateness of the outfit for the Albury Gold Cup · Attention to detail in putting together the complete look. E.g.accessories ie shoes, hat, etc · Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends · Grooming and deportment · Suitability of the outfit for the climate of the day · Remember it is a daytime event – not a nightclub or cocktail party · There will be a winner and runner up awarded in this category. Myer Lady of the Day · Style and originality · Appropriateness of the outfit for the Albury Gold Cup · Attention to detail with accessories ie shoes, bag, hat, etc · Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends · Grooming and deportment · Suitability of the outfit for the climate of the day · Remember it is a daytime event – not a nightclub or cocktail party ***** · There will be a winner and runner up awarded in this category. 2010: Major Prize: 3 nights accommodation for 2 people Hayman Island. The aim of the competition is to acknowledge individuals that have gone to the effort to piece together that perfect race outfit. o Contestants must not receive any compensation from a third party for entering. o All prizes awarded to the contestants must remain the property of the contestant. o All contestants must complete and sign the registration form prior to going on stage. o The judges decision is final. 2010 Myer Fashions on the Field TERMS & CONDITIONS Information and rules on how to enter form part of these Terms & Conditions of entry. Entry into the Fashions on the Field competition means full acceptance of the Terms & Conditions. 1. Entry may be refused to Contestants who do not meet the Contestant Criteria set out below: a. Ladies must wear hats/headpieces, & heeled shoes b. Men must wear a minimum of a suit, collared shirt & dress shoes c. Entrant must show unique and sophisticated style d. Entrant’s outfit must be appropriate for the occasion and the weather e. Entrant must show an interpretation of the season’s fashion directions. 2. Contestants must register prior to being handed a number and entering the staging area for each heat. The registration table is located adjacent to the judging stage. 3. Entry may be refused if a contestant does not meet one or all of the contestant criteria. 4. Contestants must be aged 18 years or over on the day of registration to register and be eligible to compete. Proof of age must be presented at the time of registration if requested 5. Contestants must not receive endorsements or any other form of compensation from a third party for entering Myer Fashions on the Field competition. 6. Contestants and/or their outfits are not permitted to promote commercially a brand, store, or designer 7. Contestants may not enter the competition on behalf of a third party. 8. Contestants must not receive any compensation or payment from a third party for entering the competition. 9. All prizes awarded to the contestant must remain the property of the contestant 10. Conditions apply to MYER gift vouchers. The gift vouchers cannot be used to make credit payments. The MYER vouchers apply to full price merchandise and cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer or discounts. 11. All travel and accommodation prizes must be taken as specified. Conditions to travel and accommodation apply and are subject to availability. 12. The Promoter is the Albury Racing Club 13. Myer and Albury Racing Club shall select the judging panel and the judges decision is final. In the event of a draw, the Myer adjudicator will determine a winner 14. Winning outfits are not eligible to win a place prize more than once during Myer Fashions on the Field. 15. Staff and immediate family members or partners of Myer and the race club in which Myer Fashions on the Field is being held, are not permitted to enter. 16. Contestants who progress to a “final’ of any sort in the competition agree to fill out a ‘finalist agreement form’ in order to be permitted to enter the next stage of the competition. 17. Should winners be unable to fulfil finalist criteria in any way, then some or all of their prizes may be passed on to the runner up. If the runner up is unable to fulfil finalist criteria in any way then some or all of their prizes may be passed on to the first runner up and so on. 18. Any alterations to garments between heats or prior to the final will result in disqualification. 19. Judges are selected and appointed by Myer and Albury Racing Club. The judges decision is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into. 20. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and are not redeemable for cash. Prizes may be subject to additional Terms & Conditions. 21. Winners will be notified directly after judging and will be presented with their prize package. 22. All entries may be entered into a database and Myer may use the Contestants’ names and addresses for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes unless noted to the contrary by Contestants placing an “X” in the box provided on the Registration Form. 23. Contestants agree that their image may be used by the Promoter, host race club and sponsors, for future marketing purposes. Cost of bus travel - $5 return or one way Car Parking: There is limited car parking available at the racecourse. Patrons are encouraged to utilise either the bus service or taxis to get to and from the track. Centre Field Marquee Guests: Centre Field Marquee Guests will have access to the centre of the track via the gate adjacent to the mounting yard. Only people with appropriate ticketing will have access to the centre of the track. |
