Corangamite Shire’s lakes are of great natural, aesthetic, cultural and scientific value. Lakes Bullen Merri & Gnotuk Advisory Committee, in conjunction with Corangamite Arts Inc. invites photographers to capture images of the Shire’s lakes to illustrate one or more of these values. ADVISORY COMMITTEE LAKES BULLEN MERRI & GNOTUK A maximum of two (2) entries will be accepted from each individual Each entry must include: • A completed entry form • A digital image on CD or DVD (This will be retained by Corangamite Shire as part of a reference library of images) • The entry fee per photograph: Under 12 - free; 12-18 years - $5; Open - $10 • Entries from persons under 18 years must complete adult consent - attached • Meet the specifications below Specifications • Photographs must depict any lake within Corangamite Shire • Entries may be colour or black and white • Photographs must be A3 or smaller (297mm x 420mm or smaller) • Photos and digital image on CD or DVD must have a resolution of 300dpi or higher • All photographs must be clearly marked on the back with title, type of photograph, photographer’s name and address • Entries must not be mounted or framed • Photos are to be original and the photographer’s own work • Photographs must have been taken after 1 January 2007 Eligibility • Members of family of the organising Committees may exhibit free of charge but are not eligible for prizes Display • All work will be attached to foam boards for display • The Committee reserves the right to exclude or limit entries exhibited • The organisers will do their best to ensure photographs are returned in the condition they were received but accept no responsibility for any damage Prizes • Prizes will be awarded to photographs judged to best meet the aims of the exhibition Collection of works • Photographs must be collected from the Killara Centre between 4pm and 5.30pm, Monday 14 March 2011. Any uncollected works will become the property of Corangamite Shire. Sale of works • Organisers will not conduct sales. If entrants indicate their work is for sale on the entry form the organisers will give their contact details to potential buyers Limited copyright • By signing the entry form, entrants will assign a limited copyright of the image to Corangamite Shire enabling reproduction of the image for public display during the exhibition. Photos will be labeled with the artist’s name. • Corangamite Shire will share copyright with the photographer whereby any submitted photograph may be used for promotional purposes associated with the project and its themes. Should the Shire wish to use an image for other purposes it will seek permission from the photographer. Following a period of one year and/or for other purposes outside this agreement, Corangamite Shire must negotiate with the artist/photographer for further use of the image. Photographers will be credited whenever the images are used. • It is envisaged that a data projector will be used to display all submitted works as a continuous slide show during the exhibition. Artist’s names may not be shown in the projection. |
