Cancer Council WA Cancer Council Western Australia a non-government organisation which relies on the generosity of the WA community to fund its programs and services for people with any type of cancer. Our aim is to minimise the incidence and impact of cancer on our community through advocacy, research, education and by providing people affected by cancer with support to enhance their quality of life. Carers WA Carers WA supports 307,000 Western Australians who provide unpaid care for a family member or friend who has a disability, mental or chronic illness, drug or alcohol problem, or who is frail aged. The stress of caring frequently has an emotional, physical, health and financial impact on the family. Carers vary from children through to the elderly, who look after loved ones that have illnesses ranging from cancer to Alzheimer's. Children that care often have disrupted education, while the elderly are commonly coping with their own health issues. Help Carers WA support family carers! RSPCA As a not for profit, non-government charity, RSPCA WA would not be able to function without the generous support we receive from the community. RSPCA WA upholds the Animal Welfare Act 2002 and each year RSPCA WA investigates more than 2,500 cruelty complaints and rescues over 2,000 animals. PawsCentral in Malaga provides a safe and secure home for these animals until they can be re-homed. Million Paws Walk was named 'Best Charity or Cause-Related Event' 2010 and it is just one way in which the Society aims to promote messages about responsible pet ownership and other animal welfare issues.
