Terms and Conditions
1. Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional advertisements form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating, in this promotion entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Entry is open to all residents of Western Australia. Winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian when claiming and collecting their prize. Photo identification may be required upon collection of the prize. Directors, managers and/or employees (or their immediate families) of the Promoter or of the West Australian Newspapers Limited Group, or of retailers, or of suppliers, associated companies or agencies of the Promoter are not eligible to enter.
3. To enter the competition, contestants must:
• make a purchase (and retain receipt) from any IGA, Supa IGA or IGA Xpress store in Western Australia between 18/05/11 and 15/06/11;
AND
• EITHER: obtain an original entry coupon from The West Australian newspaper between Monday, May 23, 2011 and Friday, June 10, 2011 and send the completed entry coupon, together with your original IGA, Supa IGA or IGA Xpress receipt to the address shown on the entry form before the deadline for that week’s draw;
• OR: keep your original IGA, Supa IGA or IGA Xpress receipt and find the QR code which will be published each day inside The West Australian newspaper between Monday, May 23, 2011 and Sunday, June 12, 2011. Scan the QR code using a QR code reader enabled device (such as a smartphone), follow the link to the online entry form and complete the form before 5pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
4. Only entries received online via scanning the QR Code OR on original coupons published within The West Australian are eligible. Photocopies and facsimiles are not valid. This competition commences at 8:00am (WST) on Monday, May 23, 2011 and closes at 5:00pm (WST) on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 (inclusive). All references to times and dates in these Terms and Conditions are references to WST. There are three competition deadlines as follows:
1. Entry coupons published during Week One of the competition, between Monday 23/05/11 and Sunday 29/05/11, must be received before 5pm Wednesday 01/06/11 to take part in Week One’s draw. Six prizes will be drawn from entries received during Week One of the competition. The draw will take place at 9am on Thursday 02/06/11.
2. Entry coupons published during Week Two of the competition, between Monday 30/05/11 and Sunday 05/06/11, must be received before 5pm Wednesday 08/06/11 to take part in Week Two’s draw. Six prizes will be drawn from entries received during Week Two of the competition. The draw will take place at 9am on Thursday 09/06/11.
3. Entry coupons published during Week Three of the competition, between Monday 06/06/11 and Sunday 12/06/11, must be received before 5pm Wednesday 15/06/11 to take part in Week Three’s draw. Six prizes will be drawn from entries received during Week Three of the competition. The draw will take place at 9am on Thursday 28/04/11.
5. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the promotional database and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.
6. Any entry that is lodged by automatic, repetitive, robotic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents, including the use of a competition entry service will be void.
7. The 18 winners of this competition will be determined by a random weekly selection, on the dates specified above, by placing all entries received (whether received as a West Australian newspaper coupon or received online via the QR Code Scanner) into a barrel. Six winners will be drawn from those entries on each of the draw dates specified above.
8. You can enter the competition online up to three times or send in as many valid coupons as you like, provided that each entry is fully completed and is submitted as a separate envelope entry. Any entry not complying with these conditions will be deemed invalid. Entrants are only permitted to win one prize. In the instance that a winner’s name is drawn more than once, a new name will be drawn from the entries for that week.
9. The winner will be notified by telephone after the prize draw. In the instance that the winner cannot be contacted on the phone number provided within five working days, the prize will be forfeited by that winner and a new winner will be drawn from the entries for that week.
10. There are three draws, with six prizes for each draw (a total of 18 prizes). Each prize consists of:
• $1,500 (in the form of a crossed cheque payable to the winner); and
• $750 worth of IGA gift cards (in $200 and $50 denominations), which may be redeemed at participating IGA and Supa IGA stores throughout Western Australia within 6 months of the date of issue.
• Total prize pool $40,500. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
11. The IGA gift cards will be delivered to the winner’s local IGA store (as notified on the entry coupon or the online entry form which they completed at the time of entering the competition). Winners may be required to provide proof of identity and sign to collect their prize. IGA gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. IGA is not responsible for loss or damage to gift cards. Once IGA gift cards have been collected by the winner in the IGA store, they become the sole responsibility of the recipient.
12. The prize/s must be taken as supplied. IGA gift cards are neither exchangeable nor redeemable for cash. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.
13. All additional costs incurred will be at the expense of the winner.
14. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winners of each draw will be posted on the IGA website (www.iga.com.au) after the winners have been contacted (02/06/11, 09/06/11 and 16/06/11). The Promoter will endeavour to contact all prize winners by telephone. All valid entries for the week that have arrived at The West Australian by 5pm the night prior to each draw will be included in the prize pool for the draw. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries that are delayed and/or not received at any time during the Promotion Period.
15. It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name and suburb published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, entrants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.
16. By participating in the competition, entrants agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winner agrees to grant the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use their name, likeness, image and/or voice in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use. The winner agrees they will not, and will ensure that their companions do not, sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
17. By participating in the competition, entrants agree that on completion of the prize draw, information provided by customers (“Customer Information”) will continue to be held in a database to be maintained by the Promoter. Customer Information will be held in accordance with the Privacy Policy of IGA Distribution Limited and will be used for the purposes of providing information to you about other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services you may
be interested in or any other purpose outlined in the Privacy Policy. For more information about the Privacy Policy or how to access or amend your personal information, please refer to the IGA website.
18. On completion of the prize draw, envelopes which contain the competition entries will be kept by The West Australian for twelve months. This is a mandatory requirement of the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987 (WA). All coupon entries will be destroyed after this time period. No personal details will be recorded.
19. All contestants release from, and indemnify West Australian Newspapers Limited Group, the Promoter, their related bodies corporate and all associated agencies against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
20. West Australian Newspapers Limited Group, the Promoter, their related bodies corporate and all associated agencies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting from the promotion except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
21. The Promoters’ decision will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoters reserve the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice (subject to obtaining the prior written approval of the Gaming and Wagering Commission).
