Win a trip on the Ghan or Indian Pacific

Great Southern Rail and Leader Newspapers are offering you the chance to win a one-way trip for two aboard either The Ghan or the Indian Pacific to celebrate the new Red Gum Lounges.

Travelling in a Red Sleeper cabin, the lucky winner can choose to travel between Adelaide and Darwin on The Ghan, or between Sydney and Perth on the Indian Pacific.

Flights from Melbourne to the train’s starting point, and back from the destination are included, as is accommodation where required. The prize is valued at up to $4500.

Travel is valid from May 2011 to May 2012.

The new Red Gum Lounges, fitted with lounge chairs and booth seating, are the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the rail journey of a lifetime.

The competition is open until 5pm on Wednesday, June 1.

The winner will be drawn at Leader’s Blackburn office on June 2 and notified by mail.

One entry allowed per person. Leader Community Newspapers reserves the right to invalidate all multiple entries submitted by one person.

The promotion winner will win a one-way trip for two people and will choose to travel between Adelaide and Darwin on The Ghan, or between Sydney and Perth on the Indian Pacific in Red Sleeper Service. The prize is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and is subject to availability at time of booking. The prize cannot be transferred to another service or be used in conjunction with any other offer. Air travel will be provided to and from the closest capital city to the prize winner and the departure and arrival points of the rail service. Should flights not be available on the day of departure or arrival accommodation will be provided. All other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner.

If for any reason the prize winner does not take the prize by the validity date, the prize will be forfeited. The prize is to be claimed by the person advised to Great Southern Rail by the Promoter, and the prize cannot be gifted or sold for profit once won/purchased.

The competition opens 7am on Monday, May 23, and closes at 5pm on Wednesday, June 1.
