Informatioon on how to eenter and prizees form part of the Conditionss of Entry. Entrry into this
competitioon deems acceeptance of thesse Conditions oof Entry.

Enter as mmany times as you wish, by ttelling us in 25--words-or-less your answer too the question on
the promootional page off Better Homess and Gardens Magazine coveer-dated July 20011. The wittieest
entries wiill win. Each wwritten entry muust be on an o riginal entry foorm/on the bac ck of an envelope
and sent tto “Win a silkk quilt PO Boxx 107 Easternn Suburbs MCC NSW 2004. “

Entries m ust include all requested conttact details andd a 25-words-oor-less answer to be eligible tto
win.

Entry is o pen to all residdents of Austra alia and New ZZealand exceppt employees aand immediate
families oof the Promoterr, associated coompanies and aagencies and pparticipating ouutlets. Immediaate
family meeans any of thee following: spoouse, ex spous e, defacto spouuse, child or sttep child (whetther
natural orr by adoption), parent, step pparent, grandpaarent, step grandparent, unclle, aunt, niece,,
nephew, bbrother, sister, step brother, step sister or 11st cousin. Thee Promoter is PPacific Magazinees
Pty Ltd, 88 Central Ave, EEveleigh NSW 22015 (ABN 16 097 410 896).

The comppetition commeences on 25/005/2011 at 099:00 AEST and closes on 06//07/2011 at
17:00 AEEST. The winneers will be the bbest valid entriies as judged bby the judging panel, having
regard to skill, creativityy and originalityy, at the Promooter’s premisess on 22/07/20011 at 11:00
AEST.

Total prizee value is (up tto) $7,350, ass at 11/04/20011. Thirty (30) winners wiill each receive one
silk quilt eeach, valued att $245 each.

The winneers will be notified by mail annd their names will be publishhed online at bbhg.com.au
30/07/22011.

Prizes willl be sent withinn 8 weeks.
9.
If the Proomoter is unabl e to contact thhe winner to claaim fulfilment oof the promotioonal prize or if the
winner is unable to atte nd any elemennt of the prize, that winner will forfeit the prrize in its entireety
and it shaall be awarded to the next runnner up in the promotion. The Promoter willl not be liable for a
winner whho cannot be ccontacted and ttherefore forfeits their prize aand no correspopondence will be
entered innto.
10. All entrannts may enter aas many times as they like (p rovided each eentry is a uniquue answer) but only
one prize will be awardeed per person.
11. Entrants i nto this compeetition must bee 18 years of a ge or older ass of the date oof entry.
12. All compeetition entries mmust be able too be posted to and received aat the post officce box addresss
supplied ffor the particul ar competition . No hand delivvered or bulky entries will be accepted uponn
receiving at the Promoteer’s premises foor any competition, unless ottherwise statedd herein. Mail
entries th at contain any objects that h ave not been rrequested by thhe Promoter (ssuch as backingg
cards or eexcess paper) wwill not be acceepted. Any entries that do noot follow these e requirements will
be deemeed invalid and wwill not be receeived by the Prromoter or its aagents. The Proomoter and its
agents ta ke no responsi bility whatsoevver for such enntries that do n ot follow thesee prescribed
guideliness. The Promoteer advises entraants not to sennd entries to thhe Promoter’s sstreet address aas
these ent ries may be deeemed invalid.

The Prommoter highly reccommends a D L-sized (busineess) envelope is used in submmitting postal
entries. E ntries sent via registered mai uaranteed entrrmpetition due too

increased sorting, handling and storagge required by AAustralia Post. Entries sent inn smaller uniquue

envelopess are known to have issues wwhen being sortted electronica lly by Australiaa Post and shouuld be

avoided. TThe Promoter aalso encouragees competition entrants to cleearly write on t their envelope the

full name and address oof the competit tion they are enntering for easee of processingg by Australia PPost

and thereefore entry intoo the competitioon.

14. All entrannts must submitt ONLY their owwn original ansswers. Any such answers cannnot be previouusly
published in any forum wworldwide. All entries becom e the property of the Promoteter and cannotbe
returned. Entries that arre found to havve been derive d from the dessigns of a third party will be
considereed invalid and, if awarded a prize, that prize must be returned to the Pro omoter. The winnner
may be reequired to sign a statutory deeclaration regarrding the originnality of the enntry. Without
limiting thhe generality, tthe Promoter reeserves the right to take legaal action againsst anyone foun d to
have breaached this termm. The Promoteer reserves the right in its sol e discretion to disqualify any
individual who the Prommoter has reasoon to believe haas breached anny of these connditions, or enggaged
in any un lawful or otherr improper miscconduct calculaated to jeoparddise the fair andd proper conduuct of
the promootion. The Prommoter’s legal ri ghts to recove r damages or oother compenssation are reserrved.
15. If the prizze is unavailable, for whateveer reason, the PPromoter reserrves the right too substitute th e
prize for aa prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulatiion. It is a conddition of acceppting
the prize that the winneer must complyy with all the coonditions of usee of the prize aand prize suppllier’s
requiremeents. Each prizee must be takeen as stated annd no compensation will be paayable if a win ner is
unable to use the prize aas stated.
16. The Prommoter highly reccommends a cuurrent residential street addreess be providedd when requessted
for ease oof corresponde nce and potenttial prize deliveery. The Promooter makes all rreasonable effoorts
to deliver prizes to the aaddresses provvided by compeetition entrants. The Promoteer cannot guaraantee

that any prizes returned to the Promoter due to non-delivery at the provided address will be re-sent
to the prize winner.

17. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to sign a winner’s deed of release or any other
relevant forms or agreements that the Promoter deems necessary, to provide proof of identity, proof
of age, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity
(including phone bill) in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency, age and entry
considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner
cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be
offered.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to rejudge in the event of an entrant, claiming to be a winner, being
unable to satisfy these Conditions of Entry.
19. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person
who enters. Chance plays no part in determining any winner. No correspondence will be entered
into. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are subject to
availability, not transferable or exchangeable and, with the exception of cash prizes, cannot be taken
as cash. Prizes will be sent to the winner’s nominated address as stated in their original entry. The
Promoter and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no
responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
20. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the
Promoter who may publish or cause to be published any of the entries received. Pacific Magazines
Pty Ltd and its related entities collects entrants’ personal information for the purpose of conducting
and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners) and
for related purposes which would reasonably be expected without your permission. For example, we
may from time to time use your personal information to provide you with information about products
and services which we expect may be of interest to you. However, we do respect your right to direct
us not to do this if and when any future communication is sent to you by the Promoter. We do not
sell personal information to other organisations. We may disclose personal information to essential
service providers who provide services in connection with our products and services. You may
request access to your personal information by writing to The Privacy Officer, Legal Compliance
Department, Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd, 8 Central Ave, Eveleigh NSW 2015.
21. In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all
editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and
photographed. The winners (and their companions) agree to granting the promoter a perpetual and
non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide, including online
social networking sites, and the winners (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for
such use.
22. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should
seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of that prize.
23. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limit, exclude or modify or purports to limit, exclude or
modify the statutory implied guarantees/warranties as provided under the Trade Practices Act, ASIC
Act, or the Competition and Consumer Act including the statutory consumer guarantees under the
Australian Consumer Law or similar laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable
Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable
Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all
liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of
opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the
promotion.
24. The Promoter (including its’ officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss
(including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits or opportunity),
expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising
from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition including taking or using a prize,
except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the
minimum allowable by law), including the Non-Excludable guarantees. Any change in value of the
prize occurring between the publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of
the Promoter.
