Post by: LouLou on Wednesday 22 June 2011, 05:08:15 pm
Very excited about prize, entitles me to $2500  with portrait session $125, complimentary gift sized portrait $275 and spending money S100. Voucher for two around Australia $2000, but not sure about this activation voucher i have to do. Has anyone won this as i'm not the only winner.
Apparently i have to ring 1300 number to activate. This company is in Brisbane, would appreciate any help.

Congratulations on the prize  :)

I did a search and, just so you are aware, they'll probably ask for a $50 deposit when you ring.

An appointment holding fee of $50 will be required to secure and hold a winner’s portrait session appointment. This holding fee ensures a winner’s commitment to the scheduled appointment. The holding fee will be returned to a winner at the presentation of the photograph following the photo shoot, provided that the winner has attended their appointment at the correctly scheduled time and date. Failure to attend a scheduled appointment may result in the cancellation of any prize and the forfeiture of the holding fee. (from the comp T&C's here (http://www.luxurycoupleportraits.com/TermsandConditions/))

This was also posted on yahoo answers by another winner:

(I don't think it's a scam as the person who replied on yahoo answers thinks, as they have an ABN and seem legit, but the T&C's state you receive 1 free print, so I imagine they may try and persuade you to purchase more)

Company rang today. I have 30 days to have photos taken and can only received $2000 voucher on collection of photo. As i don't live in Brisbane i can give it as a gift, i have family there so they will use it. They didn't ask for deposit .

Interesting as when I spoke to a lady today, she advised me that I was only the second winner...

Unfortunately, I have been advised that I will only receive the accommodation voucher when in the studio, and, that I need to be in the studio no later than 30 days from date of my 'phoning the studio.

I have contacted Fair Trading, Qld regarding this competition.

Hi snuggle 1 I was advised as well but what i'm trying to get my head around is....
Two winners every week 1st winner voucher $5000 and 2nd winner $2000 for 57 weekly draws plus one winner from the draws to play game worth up to $70,000 where does this company make their money back?....

Please let me know how you get on with Fair Trading as this prize would actually be great to use, which unfortunately i can't use in 30 days.....
voucher can be used anywhere in Australia with a minimum 2 nights stay.

The terms and conditions advise that the prize must be claimed within 3 months. I have no idea why the lady that I spoke to advised 30 days.

I advised Fair Trading, Qld of my complaint. I have not been advised much about the voucher restrictions. As such, I requested $2,000 of Flight Centres vouchers and the portrait to be used within the three months (October is the earliest I can get there).

On 7th July, 2011, I e-mailed the business and advised of the communication with Fair Trading, Qld.

I also advised that, whilst the terms and conditions include, I believe, a statement regarding being indemnified, that they need to consider Law of Torts regarding Negligence, and their obligations under Competition and Consumer Act (Commonwealth), 2010.

The Competition and Consumer Act (Commonwealth), 2010 replaced the Trade Practices Act, 1974.
