There will be 5 winners of this title (http://greypath.com/sites/greypath.com/files/images/mad%20rush_0.gif) Reviews by Gloria Marr ABC Music “Mad Rush” Solo piano music of Philip Glass recorded by a very talented Sydney artist Sally Whitwell. Philip Glass is called a contemporary classical composer, and his music has been used in a number of classic films. He apparently composed ‘Mad Rush’ especially for the Dalai Lama’s visit to New York City in 1981. Glass played the organ as the Dalai Lama made his entrance into the Cathedral of St John the Devine. Philip Glass is apparently a descendant of Beethoven, but I don’t know how far back the generations go. For lovers of solo piano pieces, I am sure you will enjoy Sally Whitwell’s thoughtful and beautiful playing of these 10 numbers. Recorded November 2010 / Released June 3rd. 2011. |
