The film follows the powerful story of Rachel Singer (Mirren), a former Mossad agent who endeavoured to capture and bring to trial a notorious Nazi war criminal – known as the Surgeon of Birkenau – in a secret Israeli mission that ended with his death on the streets of East Berlin. Now, 30 years later, a man claiming to be the “surgeon” has surfaced, and Rachel must go back to Eastern Europe to uncover the truth. Overwhelmed by haunting memories of her younger self and her two fellow agents, the still-celebrated heroine must relive the trauma of those events and confront the debt she has incurred. The Australian Jewish News has five double in-season passes to give away in Sydney, and five to give away in Melbourne. The passes are valid for the duration of the film’s season in all participating cinemas where the film is showing, excluding Gold Class, Hoyts La Premiere and IMAX. The passes are not valid public holidays, and Fridays and Saturdays after 5pm. The passes are valid even with No Free Ticket restrictions. Other restrictions apply.
