World Movies invites you to vote for your choice in the 25 Films You Must See Before You Die Marathon. All entrants go into the running to win a Sony Bravia HD TV and the collection of all 25 films on DVD. Covering nearly 100 years of cinema, choose from 25 modern masterpieces and cinema classics from around the world, including Oscar winning films such as Life is Beautiful, seminal viewing with Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and 60’s cult favourite Belle de Jour. Then, sit down for the weekend countdown of the 25 Films You Must See Before You Die as decided by you, from Friday 18 November 8.30pm to Sunday 20 November. What will be number one? To vote, select your favourite foreign film from the list below by clicking the button beneath the image, then enter your details at the bottom of the page. 25 Films You Must See Before You Die Voting and Competition TERMS AND CONDITIONS METHOD OF ENTRY 1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. 2. Entry is open to Australian residents only. Employees of SBS Subscription TV or SBS and their immediate families are ineligible. By entering this competition, entrants will be deemed to agree with these terms of entry. 3. ‘25 Films You Must See Before You Die’ online voting will run from Monday 31 October 9am AEDT to Monday 14 November at 9am AEDT. 4. To enter, participants must log onto www.worldmovies.com.au and follow the directions on the website. Participants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address, postcode and phone number and vote for their number one film from the list provided. They must also answer in 25 words or less the following question: “Why is this your number one foreign film?” and submit their entry by clicking on the “Enter Competition” button. 5. Online entries are limited to one entry per email address. All entries become and remain the property of SBS Subscription TV. 6. SBS Subscription TV reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of Australian residency status at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity, in order to claim a prize. Acceptance of proof of identification, Australian residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of SBS Subscription TV. In the event that a winner cannot provide proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered. 7. Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. VOTING 8. The film that has received the most amount of viewer votes will be deemed the winner and scheduled on World Movies at approximately 8.30pm AEDT on Sunday 20 November. PRIZES 9. The Prize winners will receive: a. All twenty five marathon films as listed on the 25 Films You Must See Before You Die Marathon on DVD, each valued at up to $30 RRP each. b. 1 40 inch EX720 Series BRAVIA Full HD 3D TV, valued at $1149.00 RRP. 10. The total maximum value of all prizes is up to $1899 RRP. 11. If a portion of the prize is unavailable, in stock or description, a replacement product will be provided to equal value. 12. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. 13. Once prizes have left the prize supplier’s premises, we take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit. WINNER NOTIFICATION 14. This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. The winner will be selected on Wednesday 16 November at 3pm AEDT by a panel of judges, comprised of representatives from SBS Subscription TV (“the Selection Panel”). All valid entries will be considered by and will be judged on their literary and creative merit. 15. The winners will be advised by phone and/or email by Thursday 17 November. 16. If the winner cannot be contacted by 5pm AEDT Friday 18 November, the unclaimed prize(s) will be awarded to the next best valid entry as determined by the Selection Panel. The winner(s) of the unclaimed prize(s) will be notified by phone and/or email on Wednesday 30 November. FINAL CONDITIONS 17. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of publication (inclusive of GST). SBS Subscription TV and SBS accept no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date. 18. SBS Subscription TV reserves the right to exchange the prize for an alternative prize of approximate value. 19. To the extent permitted by law, SBS Subscription TV and SBS do not accept responsibility for any variation in the prize and/or its value. 20. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements. 21. SBS Subscription TV and SBS accept no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred in entering the Competition or taking up the prize. 22. SBS Subscription and SBS assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available. All entries must be the original independent creation of the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third party rights. 25. The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which, in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language.
