Competition

WHAT MAKES YOU CURIOUS?

Entrants

Australian residents aged 18 years and over and Australian residents under 18 years who have obtained the consent of their parent or legal guardian to enter this Competition.

Exclusions

Employees of Promoter and the suppliers and agencies associated with this Competition, and the immediate family of all such employees.

Entry Period

Starts at 00:01 hours AEST on Sunday 6th November 2011 and ends at 23:59 hours AEST on Saturday 17th December 2011.

Entry

(a)        log on to http://discoverycuriosity.com.au/ (“Website”);

(b)        fill in all the required data fields on the entry form; and

(c)        answer the following question in 25 words or less tell us: “What sparks your curiosity?”

Limit

One (1) entry per person per day.

Judging Criteria

Originality and creativity.

Prize Determination

13:00 hours AEST on Friday 13th January 2012 at the offices of the Promoter.

Notification

By email and phone by Tuesday 17th January 2012.

Claim Period

Within 4 weeks from the date of Notification.

Unclaimed Prize Determination

13:00 hours AEST on Tuesday 21st February 2012 at the offices of the Promoter.

The winner will be notified by email and phone within two days of the Unclaimed Prize Determination.

Prize

The Prize winner will win a trip for two people to the Gateway Canyons Resort, valued at maximum $16,399.00 incl GST. The Prize includes;

(a)         return economy flights for two people from winners nearest Australian state capital city to Grand Junction Regional Airport, Colorado (including taxes and checked luggage allowance, and service fee);

(b)         a choice of one of six experiences offered at  Gateway Canyons Resort,including:

1. “Unravelling Secrets of the Universe”

2. “Tracking Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Creatures”

3. “Exploring Happiness: Tools for Positive Living”

4. “Supercharge your Curiosity”

5. Food and Wine: The Art & The Science

6. “Western Experience: Gateway to Adventure”

(c)         return airport/hotel transfers;

(d)         5 nights accommodation at Gateway Canyons Resort twin share;

(e)         all scheduled expert sessions and guided excursions for your chosen experience; and

(f)          all group receptions and meals, tea or coffee with all meals, along with wine or beer with dinner.

 

Total Prize Value

$16,399.00 incl GST.

Prize Conditions

In relation to the travel component of the Prize:

(a)         Winner and guests must travel at the same time and must depart from the same city;

(b)         Winner is responsible for ensuring that all those travelling have valid identification;

(c)         travel arrangements must be made a minimum of 60 days prior to Winner travel and are subject to availability;

(d)         unless expressly stated otherwise in the description of the Prize in these Terms and Conditions, the Winner is solely responsible for all costs and expenses associated with using the Prize including costs associated with:

(i)          obtaining suitable travel insurance for the trip;

(ii)        meeting all government, consular, health and travel requirements applicable to the destination (including obtaining a valid passport, vaccinations and entry visas); and

(iii)       taxes, meals, transfers, flights, accommodation, sightseeing or other activities, and spending money.

(e)        any changes or cancellations to the flights, transfers or other travel component included in the Prize may be subject to fees and charges, the payment of which will be the sole responsibility of the Winner; and

(f)          the Promoter makes no representation as to the safety or other conditions at the destination and recommends that the Winner consult the web site of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/) for travel and consular advice before embarking on international travel.

(g)         dates of travel must be within 12 months of Winners’ Notification and must coincide with the dates offered for their chosen experience at the Gateways Canyon Resort.

(h)         The major prize is subject to availability;  the Winner agrees and understands that the travel component of the Major Prize must be booked and used for the same timing as the chosen experience dates;

In relation to the accommodation component of the Prize:

 

(i)          the accommodation is based on 2 people sharing a room;

(j)          the Winner or at least one of his/her travel companions must be 18 years of age and over.

(k)          the Winner may be required to provide a valid credit card imprint or cash deposit at check-in for the purpose of covering incidental or other charges at the hotel; and

(l)          unless expressly stated otherwise in the description of the Prize in these Terms and Conditions, the Prize does not include the cost of telephone calls, internet access, breakfast, in-room dining, in-room movies, mini bar, gratuities or any other costs or expenses incurred by the Winner, his/her travel companion and/or any of their guests at the hotel.

In relation to the travel insurance component of the Prize:

 

(m)       the travel insurance provided is a standard comprehensive policy based on the Winner and their travelling companions having no existing medical conditions which may invalidate any potential claim. Winners must declare any pre-existing medical conditions for themselves and their group before travel insurance is purchased, even if the policy will not cover these conditions; and

(n)         members of the Winner’s travelling group who are over the age of 64 or with any pre-existing medical conditions which are not covered by the insurance policy may require a specialist policy for which a surcharge may be payable by the Winner

 

 Additional conditions in relation to the Prize:

 

(o)         Winners must provide a valid email address by which all communications, tickets and vouchers will be delivered although in exceptional circumstances, paper airline tickets may be issued at the discretion of the airline and will be forwarded by courier to the Winner.
