Veteran learns alongside six-year –olds in village school

CITY North News has 32 double in-season passes to the movie First Graders, opening in cinemas on November 17, to give away.

Set in a small, remote mountain-top primary school in the Kenyan bush, the story is about a new battle a Mau Mau veteran in his eighties now faces.

He fought for the liberation of his country but now he wants to learn to read and write.

School parents and authorities have other ideas.

Told with plenty of humour, the story is about the bonds formed between him and his young classmates.

Each double pass is valued at $32.

Entries close at 9am on November 18. Winners will be drawn at 10am and notified by mail with results published the following week.
