Terms and Conditions of Samsung Notebook

Samsung SLATE PC SERIES 7 : How would you use the SLATE PC? Promotion

 

By entering this How would you use the SLATE PC? Promotion (the “Event”) you (the "participant") agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Any information or instructions included on http://www.facebook.com/Samsungnotebook form part of these terms and conditions. This Event is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for the purposes of operating the Event and will not be passed to Facebook or any third party. You are providing your information to Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, and not to Facebook.

 

A. Event Period

1. The Event period is from 00:00:01 (GMT) on 11/24/2011 to 23:59:59 (GMT) on 12/16/2011 ("Event Period").

 

B. Eligibility

1. The  Event is open to anyone with a Facebook account.

2. The following individuals are not eligible to enter this Event: employees, contractors, directors or officers of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and each of its respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies (collectively the “Samsung Parties”); employees, contractors, directors or officers of any web design, advertising, fulfillment, insurance agencies of any Samsung Parties; employees, contractors, directors or officers of any agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Event; and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and spouse or “step-relative” of each) and those living in the same households of each such employee, contractor, director or officer.

3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win this Event.

 

C.  Event Description

1. There is no charge for entering this Event.

2. You can enter the Event simply by

    2.1 Facebook:

         a. Click the Event tab provided by Samsung Notebook Facebook Fan Page.

         b. Check either ‘I would use the SLATE PC for business’ button or ‘I would use the SLATE PC of studies’ button.

         c. Click the ‘Apply to win’ button

         d. Click ‘OK’ button to activate the application.

         e. Write your name, e-mail, and valid home address to receive the prize.

         f. Click ‘Apply’ button to submit the application.

3. There will be 1 winner in this promotion. Winner will be selected randomly.

 

D. Prize Information

One lucky winner will receive one Samsung SLATE PC SERIES 7

 

E. Notification of a Winner

1. The winner will be notified by email individually within one week of the end of Event Period. The winner will be announced on the Samsung Notebook Facebook Fan page (http://www.facebook.com/Samsungnotebook).

2. Winner will have 10 days from the date the notification is sent to him/her to claim their prize by sending a reply by email (confirming his/her postal address) to the email address, which the Samsung Notebook Facebook Fan Page has been notified from.

3. In the event that a winner or substitute winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within the time required, the prize will be awarded to a substitute winner, who shall be chosen by supplemental random drawing(s).

4. Promoter may delay the timing of the publication of the winners of the Event for any reason. By entering this Event you agree that your name and details may be published as you have submitted them.

 

F. Privacy and Data Protection

1. Other than as set out in these terms and conditions or for the purposes of operating the Event, the details and information provided by you when entering the Event or claiming a prize will not be used for any purpose, nor shall they be passed to any third party.

2. Participants' personal information will be kept strictly confidential.

 

G. General Conditions

1. You must have access to the Internet as the Event can only be entered online.

2. You must have a valid e-mail address.

3. The prize is non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash, credit or any other items.

4. The prize will be forfeited if the winner fails to redeem the prize by the date designated by Promoter.

5. By entering this Event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions as well as Samsung Electronics’ Privacy Policy (http://www.samsung.com/us/common/privacy.html), which are final and binding in all respects.

6. If for any reason the Event is not held as planned, due to any reason including without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Event, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion to cancel, modify or terminate the Event.

7. The Promoter, its agents, and sub-contractors are not responsible for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any online network, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any contents or entry into the Event not being properly recorded or uploaded.

8. The Promoter shall not be liable for any disruption to the Event, whether due to technical problems or otherwise, beyond its reasonable control. In the event of any disruption of the Event, the Promoter shall use reasonable endeavors to remedy the disruption and resume the Event on a fair and equitable basis to the participants.

9. The decision of the Promoter is final and the Promoter is not obligated to enter into any correspondence about the result. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries lost, misdirected, illegible, late, mutilated or altered. Entries that do not comply with these Terms and Conditions will be disqualified.

10. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any participants deemed to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Event or any website of the Promoter’s partners; (b) violating these Terms and Conditions; (c) acting with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

11. By entering the Event, you agree to release the Promoter from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Event or with the acceptance, possession, attendance at or use of any prize.

12. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions and, acting in compliance with applicable law, may delay, withdraw or discontinue the Event without prior notice. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of the Promoter.

13. Participation in receipt of benefits from the Event may have tax consequences. Should there be any tax liability for participation in the competition or the receipt of a prize, or costs or expenses relating to participation in the competition or for any other reasons, such taxes and/or expenses are the sole responsibility of the participant.

14. This Event is governed by participant’s local law, and local law may restrict participation.
