Title: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: Zoe on Friday 03 September 2004, 09:43:03 pm Deal Or No Deal $12 Million Month.
Get set for the richest month in Australian game-show history as Andrew O'Keefe hosts a Deal Or No Deal $12 MILLION MONTH. Since its debut, Deal Or No Deal has given away more than $3 million in prize money. In the coming weeks the stakes are raised as the prize pot overflows and contestants have the chance to walk away with a share of $12 million in just four weeks. Monday to Friday one contestant will be in the spotlight as they weigh-up their odds and play for the grand prize of $200,000 - that's $1 million each week. Then, once-a-week, Deal Or No Deal will present a special episode with more than $2 million on the prize board! This year Deal Or No Deal has revolutionised the 5.30pm timeslot and for the first time seen a contestant walk away with the top prize of $200,000. Deal Or No Deal is produced and recorded in Melbourne, and created by game-show heavyweight John de Mol of Southern Star Endemol Productions for the Seven Network. Title: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: jonmic on Tuesday 01 February 2005, 11:49:31 pm hint for deal or no deal- i live 2hrs out of Melb. went and audition, recieved letter to go to ch.7 at 9.30 in the morning for the show but if your letter states any time other than 8.00-8.30 you'll only be filling blocks that have been called up. (small chance you may be the extra person-26th con.).......it made for a very long day with no real chance of getting up on the podium(block 6 had already been called up and we were the replacement block)........but you've got to be in it to win it........ :flower: :P :flower: :P.......i hope i've made sense?
Title: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: raven29 on Wednesday 02 February 2005, 01:15:33 am Hi, Jonmic. Thanks for letting us know about your experience on the show.
Yes, you do make sense to me! You were part of an replacement block. Are you game (excuse the pun) to go back a second time?! Title: Has anyone been to a Deal or no deal audition Post by: tunamornay on Wednesday 09 February 2005, 03:48:11 pm hi,

Title: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: tunamornay on Wednesday 09 February 2005, 04:32:33 pm Jonmic how long after you auditioned did you receive notice to go for a taping? Was it the next day or months after?
tunamornay Title: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: jonmic on Wednesday 09 February 2005, 09:01:26 pm hi tunamornay,
i think it took about 4 weeks to get the letter to go, went with three friends to audition, one friend missed out ( a little unfair i think) the rest of us were on different (show taping) days so we all had to go alone.....one friend got the 8.00 letter and she made the podium, she was one of the last four to guess what was in her case, but she missed out on winning anything.....to answer your question raven29 i was a little angry about the whole setup but if i was a 8.00 letter i'd be in like a shot, they have a great chance of getting on the podium.........boy can i yak when i get going......now i've been to the price is right as well...ha ha ha...thats another story........ :flower: :flower: :flower: :D Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: nj29au on Saturday 25 November 2006, 12:18:31 am I live in Perth and I want to be on the show! But we have to pay for the flights over. I wish it was open to everyone. :( :(
Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: compangel on Saturday 09 December 2006, 11:17:36 pm I've auditioned 3 times & everyone I go with gets on - they don't like me!! But I'm going to keep auditioning. May-be I came across a bit desperate - if they think you are a bit crazy and you might ruin the show by opening your box early - so be very straight at the audition. My Dad won a CD player as the daily prize. Mum nearly matched. One of my friends did match & won $1000.
They will let you keep auditioning - it usually is just a matter of weeks from audition to show. You get about 45 seconds to impress them! You usually have to answer why do you want to be on the show and why would you be good for the show?? Good Luck everyone!! Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: mosskat15 on Friday 20 April 2007, 04:19:14 pm Confused, do you know before the show is taped if you are the contender for that show?
Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: competitiongirl on Friday 04 May 2007, 09:58:21 am I was on the show in the audience... You don't know before hand if yo uwill be a player, its the luckof the draw. And looks count.. they wont pick ugly people!
I know this because a nice lady that was seated next to me was in view of the camera a lot and they asked her to switch seat with a younger and more attractive woman.. i was stunned. But its true :-( Im ugly so i didnt get to even hold a case! (But thats also random and depends where your seated) Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: Rosiegal on Friday 04 May 2007, 11:27:19 am You can only audition if you are a Melbournite or a Victorian, right?
Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: puzzlefan on Friday 11 May 2007, 04:11:04 am Yes I'm pretty sure that's right. I auditioned 2 years ago and I haven't heard back from them since. I auditioned with a friend of mine and I'm pretty sure she hasn't heard back from them either. It's pretty silly really since channel 7 is a nation-wide station.
Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: s3109575 on Wednesday 20 February 2008, 08:38:20 pm I was in the audience last year. Basically I emailed in and about 5 months later, yes 5 MONTHS, I got a call to audition. I went with my partner and they have a small chat with you, basically you have to be personable and have some sort of a 'story' I reckon - I heard a lot of people saying 'they absolutely adore (insert quirky interest - like a grandma who is into motorbikes)' and so forth. I told them I was into a type of car and wanted to collect them, they seemed interested. Basically anything out of the ordinary you'd spend the money on is what they'd like to hear, so Andrew can have an on-going 'theme' to talk to you about or make puns about I think. Say you'd pay off the mortgage and they're unlikely to be sympathetic.
So we got on and they taped 5 shows in the day. It was really tiring but the guy organising the audience is perpetually getting you to be cheery, it's quite funny! Anyway, as there are 6 blocks, ours happened to be the only one that didn't get a chance! Oh well.. it was a fun day, funny to watch Andrew O'Keefe saying 'And to the newsroom now' pause pause... mate can i get some water over here please!!' We all got a box of chockies. I'm counting that as a win! Oh and free lunch  It was fun, even if you don't get on the podium. :albino: Title: Re: Be a contestant on Deal or No Deal Post by: wendy142 on Monday 18 January 2010, 09:05:33 am just a quick update on this i noticed registration lines still open for deal or no deal...go to http://au.tv.yahoo.com/deal-or-no-deal/
