The New Hamer Hall Opening Season will provide a rare opportunity to hear one of the great orchestras of the world, the Czech Philharmonic, in two exclusive Australian performances on 26 and 27 August. The orchestra will be conducted by its Chief Conductor Designate Jiri Belohlávek, currently Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and will feature soloists Josef Špacek (violin) and Jan Martiník (bass).

The first concert at 2pm Sunday 26 August will feature Smetana's overture to The Bartered Bride, Josef Suk's Fantasy in G minor led by brilliant young Czech violinist Josef Špacek, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 in E flat major.

The repertoire for the second concert, at 8pm, Monday 27 August, includes Janácek's overture to From the House of the Dead, Bohuslav Martinu's Memorial to Lidice, soloist Jan Martinik in Antonin Dvorák's Biblical Songs and Dvorák's Symphony No. 6.

2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

4. Participants must fill out, in full, all mandatory elements of the promotion entry form in order for their entry to be valid.

5. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any change in the value of a prize occurring between the date of printing and the date the prize is claimed. Prize value mentioned is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and is correct at the time of printing.

6. The promotion commences 10:00am, AEST 25.06.12, and closes at 11:59pm, AEST 22.07.12. The promotion will be judged by a panel of judges. Judging will begin on 30.07. 2012 at 11am at the judges' premises. The winners will be notified by mail using contact details provided in their entry.

7. The best entry as deemed by the judges will win: 2 x A Reserve tickets to the Czech Philharmonic (valued at $390), 2 x return economy flights to Melbourne from any capital city in Australia (valued up to $3,000), 1 x nights accommodation at the Langham Hotel (valued at $480).

8. Total prize pool valued at $3,870. Prizing cannot be transferred and is not redeemable for cash.

9.
