Terms & Conditions


    Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions when they enter the competition.
    The promoter is Australian Capital Tourism, Level 8, 220 Northbourne Avenue, Braddon ACT 2612 ABN 37 307 569 373 (collectively referred to as “the Promoter”).
    ACT residents are not eligible to enter.
    The Competition commences midday Wednesday July 4, 2012 and closes 5pm 18 July, 2012.
    The relevant permit numbers are
    (a) NSW permit: LTPS/12/04858
    (b) ACT permit: ACT permit: TP 12/02361
    Employees and contractors of the Promoters or members of their immediate families are ineligible. “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, siblings (whether natural or adopted by a parent), whether or not they live in the same household as the employee or contractor.
    The competition is a game of chance.
    To be eligible to enter the competition, entrants must be Australian residents in any state or territory except the ACT and 18 years and over. To be eligible to enter the competition, entrants must provide their first name, postcode and email address and submit the official entry form to the Promoters either via their e-newsletter or via www.visitcanberra.com.au/winter
    Only one entry is allowed per person.
    Entrants have the option to subscribe to Australian Capital Tourism’s monthly eNewsletter Discover Unexpected Delights.
    The winner will be drawn via an approved Automated Draw System (SA approval no: 959, NSW approval no: 525) at Level 8, 200 Northbourne Avenue, Braddon ACT 2612 at midday on Monday 23 July, 2012.
    The first entry drawn will win. No correspondence will be entered into regarding this decision.
    The Promoter is committed to protecting entrant’s privacy. The winner’s details will not be passed on to any third parties.
    The Promoter will notify the winner via email by Wednesday, 25 July, 2012.
    The winner’s name will be published on www.visitcanberra.com.au/winter and in The Australian on Friday 17 August, 2012.
    The winner must confirm their receipt of notification by close of business Thursday 25 October, 2012, otherwise that winner will forfeit their prize. If this occurs a redraw will occur midday Thursday 1 November, 2012 at Level 8, 220 Northbourne Avenue, Braddon ACT 2612. The new winner will be contacted by email Friday 2 November, 2012 and their name will be published on www.visitcanberra.com.au/winter and in The Australian on Friday 30 November, 2012.
    There is 1 prize package with a total retail value of $1600 to be won. The prize includes:
        Two nights at Diamant Hotel for two people in a deluxe room including breakfast at Bicicletta.
        Two bottles of Canberra District Wine in hotel room on arrival.
        One champagne Balloon Aloft flight for two people on a Saturday or Sunday.
        One 20 minute Off The Street Hot Glass creation session for two people at the Canberra Glassworks on a Saturday or Sunday.
        Three days luxury car hire from Avis during this Canberra visit.
    The prize package must be used by 31 December 2012. Reservations are necessary for all prize components except the wine. Winner must quote voucher numbers when booking. All bookings are subject to availability.
    The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation of the value of the prize, and reserves the right to substitute another prize, or component of a prize, subject to the approval from the relevant Gaming bodies.
    The prize cannot be exchanged for other goods and services, and cannot be redeemed for cash or other goods and services.
    The Promoter will not be responsible for travel arrangements to Canberra, travel insurance, spending money, any fuel or ancillary costs incurred by a prize-winner or their travelling companions in accepting the prize.
    The Prize-winner must utilise the prize components according to their validity dates, otherwise the prize-winner will forfeit that component of their prize and no compensation will be paid in lieu.
    The Promoter shall not be responsible or liable if www.visitcanberra.com.au/winter is unavailable for entries due to any website technical difficulties.
    The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a consequence of the use and enjoyment of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case liability will be limited to the minimum allowable by law).
    To the extent permitted by law, the winner will exclude, release and forever discharge the Promoter and all other persons involved in the conduct promotion and organisation of any component of the prize, and their respective employees, agents, sub-contractors, consultants (including employees of those sub-contractors and consultants) directors, officers and sub-licensees from all liability for claims, loss damage, costs or expenses (whether arising under statute, from negligence, personal injury, death, property damage infringement of third party rights or otherwise) arising from or in connection with the participation in the prize.
    The Promoter will not be responsible for any error, omission, deletion or defect contained in an entry form, or a delay or failure in the operation or transmission of an entry form, or the theft, destruction, unauthorised access or alteration of an entry.
    All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter. The Promoter may use the information contained in an entry as required for the conduct of the competition, the awarding of a prize, and where an entrant has consented on their entry for promotional or marketing purposes.
    The Promoter may at their complete discretion and with permission from the relevant Gaming bodies, cancel this competition or vary these terms and conditions as they consider appropriate.
