Flash fiction is an increasingly popular genre of writing.  In no more than 1000 words write a short story that entertains the reader.  As a bonus we also offer the opportunity for writers of a flash fiction piece to enter a micro fiction (100 word) story.
The Stringybark Flash Fiction and Micro Fiction Award 2012 is presented to the writer whose story entertains the judges the most.  So that means anything goes — murder mysteries, love stories, adventure tales, erotica, character sketches, outback yarns, comedy, tragedy, farce or whatever or wherever your fancy takes you.
The flash fiction story must have a link (no matter how tenuous) to Australia.  The micro fiction story doesn’t need to have a link to Australia - it’s a bit hard in one hundred words to be parochial!  International entries are most warmly welcomed.
There is a total value of over $770 worth of prizes in cash and books available.
Flash Fiction Award Winners receive:
First Prize - A$350 cash + publication + certificate + e-book + paperback (Value $368)
Second Prize - A$150 cash + publication + certificate + e-book + paperback (Value $168)
Third Prize - A$75 cash + publication + certificate + e-book + paperback (Value $93)
