Title: Win a Polli ring - FourThousand - subs - email ans Post by: culturebird on Thursday 30 August 2012, 12:31:11 pm (http://files.thethousands.com.au/assets/2012/08/WINPolli1-295x240.jpg)
Most people don't know it but Thomas L. Bunting (1844-1898) was an American politician famous for the colourful flags he used to make on weekends and give to his friends. Unfortunately his politician friends didn't like the flags very much so he eventually quit his job and retreated to Portland, Oregon where he lived happily ever after. After his move in 1920, 'bunting' took off in a big way. Fast forward to 2012 and here we have Polli's new range of jewellery. It's called the 'abstract flag series' and I think it channels the 'bunt' all the way. I can just picture Thomas L. Bunting wearing a Polli bunting necklace. Aside from the neckpieces (which are strung on hand-dyed cord), Maja Rose and Tess Lloyd of Polli have made rings, brooches, earrings and cufflinks. The colour scheme is beautiful with citrine, gold and 'neon blush'. Also, each piece is made from my favourite material in the whole wide world - sustainable plantation hoop pine ply. You can buy Polli's new range from their online store or email the ladies to find out where they are stocked near you. The fourth option is to win the Polli ring in citrine (valued at $29.95) that we have to give away! To enter, just answer the following question. THIS WEEKS QUESTION Marissa's favourite material is A) LETTERMAN'S EARLY STUFF B) BUNT C) SHELL ART D) SUSTAINABLE PLANTATION HOOP PINE PLY Send your answer, name and mailing address to brisbane.win@thethousands.com.au. The winner will be notified by email |
