I have been a fan of The Eco Mum for some time via her blog and Facebook page, as I know many of you are too.

Louisa had a big half price sale a little while ago and I took the opportunity to get myself some of her Essential Salve and a copy of her book, ‘The Little Book of Homemade Eco Remedies’.

We love the salve and use it as our go to product for all skin ailments. It smells so lovely, you could just about wear it as a perfume too! The kids now say, “Mum, I need the salve!”

From scraped knees to burns, scalds, bites, stings and rashes – this salve has been known to help aid healing in all these areas. The Natural New Age Dad recently had some sun spots burnt off the back of his hands and the Essential Salve has been wonderful in healing up the blisters nicely.

I love finding natural products that work well. I will never go back to commercial, chemical-laden products again!

The little book has also been useful for us as novices to natural remedies. You look up your ailment and find the corresponding natural treatment. We have referred to it many times. It’s really interesting learning what will work and being responsible for your own health, rather than visiting a chemist.

I also admire Louisa for ‘walking the talk’. The parcel arrived wrapped in recyclable materials and she buys trees to offset her carbon emission. This mum really cares for the environment!
