1. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of the terms and
conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of
these terms and conditions of entry. All entries are to be made via
www.1800reverse.com.au on the win page url
http://www.1800reverse.com.au/win.aspx. Incomplete or incomprehensible
entries will be deemed ineligible at our sole discretion. This is a Game of
Chance. The winners will be randomly selected.
2. To enter the competition, users will be required to click through to the 1800
Reverse The Amazing Spiderman Promotion on the win page of the
www.1800reverse.com.au website and register their details in English for an
entry into the competition. Entrants will be required to leave their details
including name, date of birth, address, mobile phone number and e-mail address.
3. Entrants will be asked if they would like to receive further information on
promotions from 1800 Reverse (the “Promoter”), via a “tick the box”.
If competition entrants tick that they agree to this, their contact details (as
supplied) will be provided to 1800 Reverse to use in accordance with the
data protection act (or Australian equivalent).
4. Entrants will need to accept the Terms & Conditions that will be displayed on the
www.1800reverse.com.au website, via a “tick the box” to be considered a valid entry.
5. One entry per person only is permitted for the duration of the competition.
Entries over one per person will be disqualified and will not be included in
the draw.
6. Entry is open to all Australian residents who are aged 13 years and over.
Eligible individuals under the age of 16 must obtain prior permission to enter
from a parent or guardian over the age of 18, who has agreed to these
Conditions of Entry. Employees of 1800 Reverse and their immediate
families, associated agencies of 1800 Reverse and companies associated with
Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Australia Pty Limited (the
“Supplier”) are not eligible to enter the promotion.
7. The competition commences on Friday October 19 at 9.30am (AEST) and all
entries must be received before Wednesday November 14 2012 at 24.00
(AEST).
8. The winners will be randomly selected using random number generated
software at 1800 Reverse, 23 McDougall Street Milton QLD 4064 2.00 pm
(AEST) on Thursday November 15 2012. Each entrant will be assigned a
number on an Excel spreadsheet and the corresponding number selected by
the random number generated software, will deem the winner.
9. The winners will be notified by phone and email by 1800 Reverse within 2
working days of the relevant draw date.
10. Winners names and state will be published on www.1800reverse.com.au on
November 20 2012
11. Prizes:
There will be thirty prize winners who will be each awarded:
1 x The Amazing Spider-Man DVD (RRP $29.97)
Total prize pool is valued at a retail value of $899.10
12. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes
are not exchangeable or transferable and prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
13. Prize values are the recommended retail value as provided by the Supplier
and are correct at time of printing. The promoter accepts no responsibility
for any variation in prize value.
14. Prizes will be dispatched within 2 weeks of the prize draw and notification of
the winners.
15. 1800 Reverse and companies associated with this promotion shall not in any
circumstance or event whatsoever, be responsible or liable for misdirection
of any prize or for loss, damage or destruction of any prize in transit.
16. Second Prize Draw: In the event that for any reason whatsoever any prize
winner does not or is not able to take any prize or is unable to be contacted
by this date, the prize will be forfeited by the winner. The unclaimed or
undistributed prize will be subject to a redraw on February 18 2013 at 1800
Reverse 23 McDougal Street, Milton QLD 4064 at 11am. Random number
generated software will be used to select the winner from the original
entrants (excluding previous winners). The winner/s will be notified by email
on February 19 and their names and state will be published on
www.1800reverse.com.au on February 22 2013.
17. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned,
including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control
of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness
or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the
right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the
entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to approval from the
State and Territories regulatory bodies.

Well, I tried  but with a "wrong" mobile number not ticking that more info box.
Looked at the FAQs :

Their charge $2-50 a SMS so, if they reverse it, you pay.
And, while it says "IF"you tick the more info box they use it.
But try entering without ticking it and you get;
You could end up paying more than the DVD is worth!

Thanks Rosie125 for the warning. I got caught with a similar type of competition earlier this year. It cost me $7 before I was able to bail out of the SMS scam. Competitions like this should be outlawed.

I've entered 1800 Reverse comps for a while - I've been a runner-up winner with them - I've not received any SMS messages from them, just an occasional email

Maybe I've just been lucky  :shock:

Like deejay, I have never received an sms from 1800 reverse, and I have entered their competitions on numerous occasions. I think the terms in the FAQ section (that refer to the cost of a received sms) are not for the competition but for people using the 1800 reverse service (which they are advertising by having the competition), so I don't think it is  a scam.

You can just use your land line, I've always just used the home phone and it excepts the number. :)
