SINCE its premiere in London in 2007, War Horse has thrilled audiences around the world.  Now it is Melbourne’s turn.

War Horse is a magnificent drama which tells the story of Joey, a horse who is sold to the cavalry at the outbreak of World War I and shipped to France. He is soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary odyssey.

At the story’s heart are astonishing puppets with their flanks, hides and sinews built of steel, leather and aircraft cables.  They bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on the stage, and are strong enough for men to ride.
