TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering QUEST TANGALOOMA FAMILY ESCAPE “Promotion”, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1.STANDARD TERMS
1.1Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.

2.WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open only to all residents of Queensland over the age of 18 years. Must be able to show upon request proof of residency e.g. Drivers Licence.
2.2Employees and their immediate families of Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd Trading as News Queensland and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether by natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.

3.HOW TO ENTER
3.1The competition period commences on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at 09:00am (AEST) and concludes on Thursday November 22, 2012 at 12:00pm.
3.2To enter the draw for the prize/s as outlined in section 5, entrants must go to www.couriermail.com.au/questnews and submit the online entry form including the entrant’s full name, address, postcode, day contact number and email address.
3.3Entrants may only enter in the competition once with a valid email address.
3.4Phone and email entries are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.5The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify an entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with the terms and conditions.

 

4.PRIZES
There are two (2) major prize packages to be won
EACH MAJOR PRIZE WINNER WILL RECEIVE:
•Three (3) nights’ accommodation for one (1) family, two 2 adults and two 2 children (children are classified as persons of 3 – 14 years inclusive) at Tangalooma Island Resort, Moreton Island, Queensland, staying in a “Hotel Deluxe” room ($1440)
•Return Launches for four (4) people ($250)
•Quad Bike Tour for four (4) people ($232)
•Desert Safari Tour for four (4) people ($116)
•Whale Watch/ Marine Discovery Cruise for four (4) people ($220)
•Parasailing for two (2) adults ($160)
•Fish Feeding Tour and Sightseeing Tour for four (4) people ($84)

TOTAL PRIZE VALUE APPROX. $5,004.00 (incl. GST)
4.1The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. In the event that any prize item is unavailable; the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of equal or greater value. Any taxes (other than GST, if any) which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. The prize is strictly as stated above and prize/s are valid until June 30, 2013.
4.2Prize is invalid during high season, public holiday’s weekends & school holidays and is subject to availability.
4.3All auxiliary activities outlined in section 4.0 are subject to availability and weather conditions. Prize elements must be used during the stay at Tangalooma Island Resort and can not be transferred to a later date. If an activity becomes unavailable the prize is forfeited and can not be redeemed for cash.

4.5The prize winner/s will be solely responsible for all travel costs associated in getting to and from the resort to take up prize redemption.
4.6If for any reason the winner/s do not take the prize or any element of the prize between the validity period specified by the promoter, then the prize or any element of the prize will not be redeemable for cash and will be forfeited.
4.7A redraw for any prize, if unclaimed, may take place on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. Winner/s, if any, will be notified in writing and or phone within twenty-four (24) hours of the draw.
4.8In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners grant the promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

5.HOW TO WIN
5.1Each entrant who has entered the competition over the Competition Period and registered all details in accordance with clause 2 or clause 3 will be entered into the prize draw. The draw/s will take place at Quest Community Newspapers, Cnr Mayne Road and Campbell Street, Bowen Hills Qld 4001 at 1:00pm on Thursday November 22, 2012.
5.2The winner/s may be announced in Quest Community Newspapers (subject to the Editor’s decision). The prize major prize winner/s will be notified by phone or mail within 24 hours of the draw.
5.3The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
5.4All other expenses, other than those outlined within these Terms and Conditions, are the responsibility of the winner.
5.5If an entrant marks the "opt-in" box on the entry form, the entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the specified companies’ databases and the specified companies may use this information at any time in the future for promotional and marketing purposes regarding their respective products or services including contacting the entrant via electronic messaging.

6.NO LIABILITY
6.1In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to State Legislation.
6.2Nationwide News Pty Ltd, trading as Quest Community Newspapers and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
6.3Nationwide News Pty Ltd, trading as Quest Community Newspapers and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
6.3.1during the draw;
6.3.2whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw; or
6.3.3in the participation in any prize;
6.3.4as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
6.3.5due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
6.3.6in relation to failure of a mail entry being received by the promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion;
6.3.7arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion;
6.3.8due to circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
6.4Nationwide News Pty Ltd, trading as Quest Community Newspapers and their affiliates assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
6.5If, for any reason, this competition is not capable of being conducted as planned, including, but not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to State Legislation.
