Vienna Boys Choir ‘ Jubilate Deo’ This CD would be a lovely one to have playing over the Xmas period. Who would not enjoy listening to the beautiful, angelic soaring, voices of the Vienna Boys Choir? With this CD is a booklet that gives you the history of the formation of this choir. I didn’t realize they have around 400 children that study and rehearse in magniifcent quarters in Vienna. Beginning with kindergarten boys and girls are provided with a complete musical /general education and sporting program. At the age of ten the most talented boys are selected to join the choir and go on to be assigned to the various touring choirs. This CD has 17 selected numbers from the Classic’s, for you to enjoy, but also has several lighter numbers such as ‘ Land of Sweeping Plains’, that very Australian poem written by Dorothy McKellar which has been set to music, and it also includes that old favourite Waltzing Matilda and Now is the Hour. Total playing time is 60 mins. |
