The Imogens A photography competition for lesbians over forty The competition opens on Saturday 1 December 2012 and closes 5pm Monday 9 February 2013 Australian Eastern Daylight Time. There are two categories – Capturing the Senses and Lesbian Life. Prizes will be awarded for each category. First prize: $100.00 Second prize: Massage gift certificate Third prize: Book(s) Entries will be on display and prizes awarded to the winning Imogens at Haberfield on Saturday 9 March 2013 Competition Terms and Conditions The competition is open to women over forty who do not rely on photography as their main source of income. Entrants must be a resident of Australia, with an Australian mailing address, to be eligible to win a prize. Entry is free. Multiple entries are permitted but each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Photographs can be in colour or black and white and can be taken with any type of camera. Photograph format and size: jpeg photographs straight from your digital camera of around 3MB in size are acceptable. Translated into more technical language this means the longest side of the photographs should be no more than 2600pixels (or 250mm at 260dpi) and no less than 2000 pixels (or 220mm at 260dpi) on the longest side. All photographs must be accompanied by a brief title of 5 words or less, and an explanation of how the photograph fits the theme in 25 words or less. The entrant must guarantee that she has obtained all necessary permissions including releases from people (and/or in the case of a child, that child’s parent or guardian) recognisable in the photograph. All photos must be entirely the entrant’s own work, and by entering the competition, each entrant warrants that she is the exclusive owner of the photographs, including any copyright of the photographs. Copyright of each photograph remains with the photographer. By entering the competition, each entrant: • Consents to the display of their photographs on the Ten Forty Matrix website • Consents to their name being displayed on the website • Consents to their photographs being printed for display at the awards presentation evening • Consents to being contacted by email for matters relating to the competition. • Consents to indemnify Ten Forty Matrix against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of publication of the photograph. All entries must be submitted in jpeg format via email to: imogen@olderdykes.org A panel of three judges will assess all images, and the judges’ decision is final.
