Their original albums, produced by Beatles producer George Martin, remain hugely popular to this day, with Mud Mud Glorious Mud and I’m A Gnu in particular hummed by adults and children alike (many of whom may or may not know the songs’ origin). After 5 years’ touring the UK, this critically acclaimed show – packed to the rafters with the words and music of Flanders and Swann – is coming to Australia for the first time. Lifelong fans and the uninitiated alike will delight in seeing the boys breathe new life into F&S’s wonderful songs including: The Hippopotamus Song, The Gas Man Cometh, The Gnu, Omnibus (or A Transport of Delights), A Song of Patriotic Prejudice and Madeira M’Dear. ‘Such energy and relish… caught the period remarkably well… well worth seeing’ The Independent, UK ‘Astute wit and genius wordplay… great’ The Guardian UK, Critics’ Choice Tim FitzHigham is a Perrier nominated, award-winning comedian who performs regularly on BBC TV and Radio, has appeared in films including Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter and is currently filming his own TV series Superhumans for the BBC to be shown later this year. Duncan Walsh Atkins is a stalwart of BBC Radio 4 and runs a busy London music studio. They have also toured the UK in Noel Coward’s Words and Music – a gala evening of satire, song and stiff upper lips. * Duncan Walsh-Atkins is not available for the whole of the fringe season and an alternate performer will feature in his absence Tim is also appearing in his solo show Tim FitzHigham: The Gambler, also at the Garden of Unearthly Delights. http://www.flandersandswann.info Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast) WIN TIX to see THE GAMBLER during the Adelaide Fringe 5.30pm Friday 15 February, 2013 at The Garden of Unearthly Delights.
