Seneoz Drum Fiasco | Adelaide Fringe (http://adelaideliveitloveit.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Seneoz-DrumFiasco-poster280.jpg) Seneoz is an exciting new group formed in Adelaide 2012, combining the talents of Master Djembe player Karamba Cissoko and international acrobat Iddi Waziri. They create an energetic and magical fusion of high energy African drumming, dance and acrobatics. Despite the group’s short history, they have been captivating sell-out crowds at bars and festivals in and around Adelaide. But to date, their most notable achievement would have to be an invitation to perform a sneak peek of their show “Drum Fiasco” for the cast and crew of Cirque de Soleil in December 2012. “We were guest performers at their ‘Ovo’ Opening Night After Party … it was a great honour just to be performing in front of such an amazing world-renowned group of artists. Though I don’t think any of us expected the reaction that we got … we had the whole crowd up on their feet clapping, cheering and dancing along to the grooves. It was a once-in-a lifetime experience for us”: (Karamba Cissoko, Seneoz Drummer). Seneoz will be debuting their show “Drum Fiasco” in the Adelaide 2013 Fringe Festival for 3 shows only. • Saturday 16th February @ 2:30pm – Gluttony, Pig Tales • Saturday 23rd February @ 7pm – Adelaide College of the Arts, X-Space • Sunday 10th March @ 7.30pm – The Singing Gallery, McLaren Vale PRICES: $23 (Adults), $17 (Concession) BIOGRAPHY OF SENEOZ PERFORMERS Originating for Senegal in West African, Karamba CIssoko is a traditional griot (musician) whose passion lies in showcasing his family’s music, rhythm and culture to audiences all over the world. He has wowed crowds in both festivals such as Adelaide Fringe and WOMADELAIDE since arriving in Australia a few years ago. Iddi Warizi is a Tanzanian acrobat and dancer who has been performing since the age of 12, when his career began on the streets of Dar es Salaam. Iddi has toured worldwide throughout Africa and Asia as a circus acrobat. He was a semi-finalist on the hit TV show “Australia’s Got Talent” in 2011 with his former group “African Warriors”. Iddi moved to Adelaide in 2012 and is the newest edition to Seneoz. In addition Seneoz comprises two of Karamba’s original drumming students in Adelaide: • John Vuoso – Doun Doun Player (Traditional West African Bass Drums) • Jacqueline Goudkamp – Djembe Player/Seneoz Manager, who fell in love with West African music whilst she was working as a Doctor in Ghana.
