What: Mother's Day High Tea When: Sunday 12th May from 10:30am – 1:30pm Where: The Barracks, Palace Cinemas, 61 Petrie Terrace (top of Caxton Street) Cost: $50 (plus booking fee) from here The Barracks are again hosting their lavish high tea at Palace Cinemas this Mother's Day, which includes a screening of the anticipated comedy The Big Wedding. The upstairs of the Palace Barracks Cinema will be transformed into an elegantly adorned high tea affair, allowing guests to take in panoramic views of Brisbane city while enjoying a myriad of traditional high tea delicacies. This will be the fourth Mother's Day high tea, an annual Barracks event that has become a tradition for many patrons of the centre. Upon arrival, all guests will be treated to a Bellini before being seated for a traditional high tea. Tiers of scones with jam and cream, mini quiches, Mediterranean Involtinis, sweet tartlets and macaroons from French Twist, will be on offer. Pots of both Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea will be served throughout the event. After the high tea, guests will experience a screening of the romantic comedy The Big Wedding starring Robert DeNiro, Diane Keaton, and Amanda Seyfried to name a few. "The Big Wedding is one of this year's most anticipated romantic comedy film releases due to its all start cast and original plot," said QLD Events Manager of Palace Cinemas, Charley Greaves.
