TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY INTO THE BANK OF MELBOURNE KNOW THE GLOBE 2013 PROMOTION
(THE "PROMOTION")

1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these terms and conditions; however, to the extent that there is
any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any other published material, these terms and conditions will
prevail. By participating in this Promotion, each participant fully and unconditionally agrees and acknowledges that these
terms and conditions are binding.
2. The promoter is Bank of Melbourne - a Division of Westpac Banking Corporation ABN 33 007 457 141 of 275 Kent Street,
Sydney, NSW ("Bank of Melbourne" or the "Promoter"), tel: 13 22 66. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate (as
that term is defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) will be known as the "Westpac Group".
3. Entry is open to all permanent residents of Victoria, aged 18 years or older, who submit a valid entry in accordance with
clause 6 during the Promotion Period (an “Eligible Entrant”). Employees and contractors of the Westpac Group and their
immediate families are ineligible to enter.
4. The Promotion commences at 9.00am Eastern Standard Time ("EST") on 22 April 2013 and closes at 12noon EST on 27
May 2013 (the "Promotion Period").
Weekly QUIZ Rounds
5. There are 5 Rounds during the Promotion Period:
a. Round 1: Begins 9.00am EST 22 April 2013 and closes at 12noon EST 29 April 2013;
b. Round 2: Begins 12.01pm EST 29 April 2013 and closes at 12noon EST 6 May 2013;
c. Round 3: Begins 12.01pm EST 6 May 2013 and closes at 12noon EST 13 May 2013;
d. Round 4: Begins 12.01pm EST 13 May 2013 and closes at 12noon EST 20 May 2013; and
e. Round 5: Begins 12.01pm EST 20 May 2013 and closes at 12noon EST 27 May 2013.
6. To enter this Promotion, an Eligible Entrant must, during the Promotion Period:
a. access the Bank of Melbourne Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BankofMelbourne (the “Page”) and 'Like' the
Page (if not already “Liked” );
b. then click on the link to the Bank of Melbourne “Know the Globe” Facebook application.
c. complete their name, email address, mobile or landline telephone number and postal address; and
d. visit the “Know the Globe” facebook application page and complete the online quiz (“Quiz”),
(an “Entry”). No responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected
Entries.
The Entries will be shown on a leader board with the Eligible Entrant’s name and score.
7. Multiple Quiz Entries per round are not allowed. The Eligible Entrant will receive one Entry for the first Quiz they complete
in each Round. Eligible Entrants can gain one additional Entry into each Round to be eligible for the Major Prize Draw by
sharing a Quiz on Facebook. Sharing the Quiz on Facebook will gain an additional Entry into the Round to be eligible for
the Major Prize Draw. Only one extra Entry per Quiz per Round is allowed.
8. Entry and continued participation in the Promotion is dependent on Eligible Entrants following and acting in accordance
with the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be viewed at www.facebook.com/terms.php. This
Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Eligible Entrants
understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information an Eligible
Entrant provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions, comments or
complaints about this Promotion must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook.
9. There are 50 Prizes available for the entire Promotion. The following ten individual prizes will be awarded per Round:
1. Herschel Classic Backpack valued at approximately $80;
2. $80 Kathmandu Gift Card;
3. Kobo Mini eReader valued at approximately $80 ;4. Apple iPod Shuffle valued at approximately $60 ;
5. Lonely Planet Travel Guide - The Travel Book valued at approximately $60 ;
6. Nikon Binoculars valued at approximately $60 ;
7. Tru Virtu Secure Wallet valued at approximately $50 ;
8. North Face Travel Canister valued at approximately $50 ;
9. Moleskine Travel Journal valued at approximately $40 ; and
10. Kikki K Travel Wallet valued at approximately $40 ;
each a (“Weekly Prize”).
Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
10. The total Prize pool over the 5 Quiz Rounds is valued at approximately $3,000. The Promoter takes no responsibility for
any variation in the Prize value.
11. The awarding of Prizes to the top ten Entries per round will be conducted at 2.00pm EST at Level 8, 530 Collins Street,
Melbourne on the following dates:
1. 29 April 2013 for all Entries received in Round 1 (“Draw One”);
2. 6 May 2013 for all Entries received in Round 2 (“Draw Two”);
3. 13 May 2013 for all Entries received in Round 3 (“Draw Three”);
4. 20 May 2013 for all Entries received in Round 4 (“Draw Four”);
5. 27 May 2013 for all Entries received in Round 5 (“Draw Five”).
The winner of the Prizes will be determined in the following manner for each Round:
The top ten Entries on the leader board will each win a Prize. In the event there are more than 10 Entries on the leader
board, the remaining top scorers will go in a draw to determine the 10 weekly winners.
a. E.g. if 30 people are tied in first place, all thirty will be viewable on the leader board. 10 out of these 30 will be
randomly drawn and awarded the weekly prizes.
b. E.g. if 5 people are tied in first place, the next best performer will be in 6th place on the leaderboard etc.
c. E.g. if there are 8 people tied for first place, and 2 people tied for second place, these are the top 10 and will be on
the leader board and awarded the weekly prizes.
(the “Quiz Winner(s)”).
12. The allocation of a Prize to a Quiz Winner is final and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence in relation to the
Prize or the Promotion.
13. The Quiz Winners in the Draws will be notified by email within 2 days of each Draw, and the Quiz Winners’ names will be
published on the Bank of Melbourne website at www.bankofmelbourne.com.au/competitions on 30 May 2013 on the day
following each Draw.
14. The Prizes will be held at the Quiz Winners’ nominated Bank of Melbourne branch for collection. Prizes not collected within
a three month period will be forfeited.
Major Prize Draw
15. All Entrants will receive an Entry into the Major Prize Draw. Entrants may have up to ten Entries for this Draw, one Entry
for each Quiz completed, and one Entry for each Quiz shared (to the maximum of 10 Entries only).
16. The Major Prize consists of an Anystore Gift Card credited with $2,000 (“Major Prize”). The Promoter takes no
responsibility for any variation in the Prize value. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

17. The Major Prize draw will be conducted at level 8, 530 Collins Street, Melbourne at 12.30pm EST on 28 May 2013 for all
Entries received throughout the competition (“Major Prize Draw”). The Major Prize Draw winner will be determined by way
of a random selection from a computer database containing all Entries from Eligible Entrants. The Eligible Entrant that
submitted the first Entry drawn will receive the Major Prize (the “Major Prize Winner”).
18. The Major Prize Winner will be notified by email to the address associated with their Entry on 30 May 2013. In the event the
Major Prize Winner cannot be contacted on this day, the Promoter will continue to attempt to contact the Major Prize
Winner up until the Prize claim deadline outlined in these terms and conditions.19. The name of the Major Prize Winner will also be published on the Bank of Melbourne website at
www.bankofmelbourne.com.au/competitions on 30 May 2013. Eligible Entrants are responsible for keeping the Promoter
informed of any changes to their contact information during and immediately following the Promotion Period. To claim the
Major Prize, the Major Prize Winner must respond to the notification in the manner that will be set out in the notification
letter.
20. The Prize will be held at the Major Prize Winner’s nominated Bank of Melbourne Branch for collection.
21. If the Major Prize is not claimed by 28 August 2013, the Promoter may conduct such further draws at the same place as the
original Major Prize Draw as may be necessary to apportion such unclaimed Prize. The Promoter will comply with any
applicable legislation regarding any unclaimed Prize and any written directions of any competent authority in that regard. If
permitted by the applicable legislation, the Promoter will conduct a redraw at 12noon EST on 2 September 2013. The
winner will be notified by email to the address associated with their Entry on 2 September 2013 and the Winner’s name will
also be published on the Bank of Melbourne website at www.bankofmelbourne.com.au/competitions on 2 September 2013.
Eligible Entrants are responsible for keeping the Promoter informed of any changes to their contact information during and
immediately following the Promotion Period. To claim the Prize, the winner must respond to the notification in the manner
that will be set out in the notification letter.
22. The total retail value of all Prizes offered under this Promotion is up to $5,000 at time of publication. The Promoter takes
no responsibility for any variation in the Prize value. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash..
23. The name of the Quiz Winners and the Major Prize Winner (collectively “the Promotion Winners”) will also be published on
the Bank of Melbourne website at www.bankofmelbourne.com.au/competitions at the conclusion of each Round. Eligible
Entrants are responsible for keeping the Promoter informed of any changes to their contact information during and
immediately following the Promotion Period.
24. The Promotion Winners may be liable to declare the Prize for taxation purposes and will be liable for any tax payable in
respect of a Prize. Eligible Entrants should seek independent financial advice in relation to any tax payable on the Prize
and the potential impact on their personal financial situation prior to entering the Promotion.
25. Except for guarantees, warranties and conditions implied by law which cannot be excluded, neither the Promoter nor any
other member of the Westpac Group make any guarantees, representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding
the quality or suitability of any prizes awarded under these terms and conditions.
26. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy, or any guarantee,
warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by any legislation which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This
may include the Corporations Act 2001, the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Australian Consumer Law or any
equivalent State or Territory legislation. If any guarantee, warranty, term or conditions implied or imposed under the
Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation in relation to any prizes awarded under these terms and
conditions cannot be excluded (a “Non-Excludable Provision”) and the Promoter is able to limit the remedy for a breach of
the Non-Excludable Provision, then the liability of the Promoter and all members of the Westpac Group for breach of the
Non-Excludable Provision is limited to one or more of the following at the Promoter's option:
a. the replacement of the prize or the supply of an equivalent prize,
b. the repair of the prize,
c. the supplying of the prize again,
d. the payment of the cost of replacing the prize or of acquiring an equivalent prize,
e. the payment of the cost of having the prize repaired; or
f. the payment of the costs of having the prize supplied again.
27. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter and all other members of the Westpac Group expressly disclaim
liability for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal
injury which is suffered or sustained in connection with any participant’s participation in this Promotion or the acceptance of
any Prize. The Winners indemnify the Promoter and all members of the Westpac Group against any liability, injury, loss or
damage which may be suffered, incurred or sustained by the Promoter or any member of the Westpac Group arising out of,
relating to, or in any way connected with, any act or omission (including negligence) by the Winner, or its use of the Prize,
or its breach of these terms and conditions.
28. The Promoter collects personal information from all participants in order to conduct the Promotion. If the information
requested is not provided, the participant may not participate in the Promotion or claim a Prize and their entry may be discarded. It is a condition of entry into the Promotion that the Winner consents to the publication of their name and city of
origin in any advertisements or articles, or social media posts, relating to the Promotion or the Prize and participates in any
media releases which may include photographs of the Winner by the Promoter or any other member of the Westpac Group.
By entering this promotion, participants consent to the use of their names and likenesses in this manner. The Promoter’s
treatment and storage of personal information will be handled in accordance with all applicable laws in Australia. The
Promoter’s privacy policy can be found at http://www.bankofmelbourne.com.au/online-services/security-centre/we-protectyou/privacy-policy. Your information will not be used to contact you for marketing purposes.
29. Neither the Promoter nor any other member of the Westpac Group will be responsible for any problems or technical
malfunction of any computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or
entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet.
30. If this Promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason (including but not limited to failure or malfunction of
any computer equipment by reason of infection by computer virus, power failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, or technical failures or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion), the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any
individual who undermines the integrity or fair running of the Promotion for other entrants, including by tampering with the
entry process, and, after consulting with the relevant legislative authorities, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the
Promotion.
