Meet the Reef – Facebook Promotion
Full Terms & Conditions
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of
entry. By entering the competition, entrants are deemed to have accepted
these terms and conditions.
2. The competition commences on Tuesday 14 May 2013 at 10:00am (AEST)
(UTC + 10) and concludes on Tuesday 11 June 2013 at 12:00pm (AEST)
(UTC + 10). Entry is open to all persons over the age of 18 years.
3. To enter the competition you must:
(i) Go to https://www.facebook.com/visitqueensland;
(ii) Entrants who do not already “like” the Tourism and Events
Queensland Facebook page must “like” the page to access the
competition tab;
(iii) Follow the steps to create your own unique Great Barrier Reef
experience;
(iv) Select one of the four characters: clown fish, turtle, whale or manta
ray;
(v) Drag and drop two of the possible eight activities onto your
character to create your ideal Great Barrier Reef experience;
(vi) Enter your full name, email address and country of residence;
(vii) Share your character via Facebook, Twitter or email for an extra
entry.
4. Once you register for the competition, you will receive a bonus entry into
the competition when you share your character on either Facebook,
Twitter or Email via the application on the competition website.
5. Tourism and Events Queensland reserves the right in its absolute
discretion to disqualify:
(i) any entries that tamper with, or attempt to tamper with the entry
process;
(ii) any entries that Tourism and Events Queensland considers
manipulative, unrepresentative, or disproportionate;
(iii) any individuals found entering who corrupt or affect, or attempt to
corrupt or affect, the administration, security, fairness or proper
conduct of the entry process.
6. Employees and Directors of Tourism and Events Queensland, or agencies
associated with the competition, and their immediate families, are
ineligible to enter the competition.
7. Entrants will be entered into a random prize draw to win one major prize
of an AUD$10,000 Flight Centre holiday voucher. The voucher may be
used for booking travel to and from Queensland, which includes flights,
accommodation, transfers and day tours. A suggested travel itinerary will
be provided by Tourism and Events Queensland. Voucher terms and
conditions apply.
8. The winner will be selected by a random electronic draw. The drawing of
the prize will be conducted at Tourism and Events Queensland, 30
Makerston Street, Brisbane Qld 4000 on Thursday 13
th June 2013 at 3.00pm (AEST). The name of the prize winner will be published on
http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/traveltools/competitions/competitions_home.cfm immediately following the
draw. The prize winner will also be notified by email.
9. The voucher is valid for the period 13 June 2013 to 13 June 2014. Voucher
terms and conditions apply.
10. The voucher is not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
If the prize is not claimed within four weeks of the draw, a redraw of the
prize will take place.
11. Any costs relating to alterations to confirmed details, where applicable, will
be at the expense of the prize winner. This includes but is not limited to
changing dates of flights.
12. Travel insurance is not provided and Tourism and Events Queensland
recommends the prize winner and all travel companions obtain
comprehensive travel insurance including medical coverage (at their own
expense) prior to travel.
13. Entrants from outside Australia must be eligible for a short term tourist
visa to Australia. For visa information visit
www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist. The prize winner and travel companions
must arrange and pay for their own tourist visa to Australia prior to travel.
Tourism and Events Queensland will not be held responsible for any visas
that are not approved prior to the travel date resulting in inability to
travel. Ineligibility to obtain a visa results in cancellation of the prize and
re-draw.
14. Tourism and Events Queensland shall be entitled to cancel the holiday
prize and itinerary without notice should the prize winner or their travel
companions engage in any inappropriate, illegal or immoral behaviour, use
excessive alcohol, artificial stimulants or illegal drugs, or act in any
manner which brings Tourism and Events Queensland or any person or
organisation involved in the promotion into public disrepute.
15. Each entrant releases and indemnifies Tourism and Events Queensland
and Facebook against all liability (including tax liability), cost, loss or
expense arising out of acceptance of the prize or participation in the
promotion including (but not limited to) personal injury and damage to
property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some
negligent act or omission or otherwise.
16. By accepting the prize, the winner and the winner’s travel companions
agree that Tourism and Events Queensland may use their name and
likeness for its promotional and publicity purposes.
17. Tourism and Events Queensland’s decision concerning any aspect of this
competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or
associated with, Facebook. Any questions, comments, or complaints
regarding the promotion should be directed to Tourism and Events
