Goodies star Bill Oddie to tour Australia in June The K Faktor presents An Oldie but a Goodie – www.billoddietour.com.au Calling all fans of the Funky Gibbon, Twinkle the giant kitten and Ecky Thump…Bill Oddie, star of the classic hit BBC TV comedy The Goodies will be touring Australia in late June. Comedian, television personality, author, musician, composer, and wildlife enthusiast, Bill Oddie is a man of many talents. His one-man show will hit Brisbane (20 June), Sydney (21 June), Melbourne (22 June), Adelaide (26 June) and Perth (27 June) and feature a live and unplucked reminiscence about his crazy days as one third of The Goodies. The show – ‘An Oldie but a Goodie’ will also feature a video message from fellow trandem riders, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden. Considered a national treasure in the UK, since his days in The Goodies Bill Oddie has since gone on to present wildlife shows Springwatch and Autumnwatch. He is well-known for his environmental efforts and love of birdwatching. Now Goodies devotees and wildlife fans will join together to share an intimate evening listening to stories from the good old days of The Goodies – trandem wrangling, capturing our own Rolf Harris, songs about string, riding Black and White Beauty in the Grand National, and more. Ticket purchasers will also have the chance to ask Bill their own questions, with tour organiser The K Faktor running a competition via the website (www.billoddietour.com.au) for fans to send in the question they want Bill to answer. The questions judged to be the most interesting or unique in each state, will allow the ticket holder to ask the question directly to Bill live at the event. “This is an interactive show, and we are encouraging everyone to dress up as a Goodie and really embrace the Funky Gibbon within!” said The K Faktor’s Justin Karcher. Even Bill himself is excited to be returning to Australian shores – maybe in the hope of repeating his highlight of hooking a Hammerhead on the Great Barrier Reef! “I am looking forward to the tour a lot. It will be my fourth or fifth trip to Australia and the first trip was so long ago, I was often apprehended by the police for having suspiciously long hair,” said Bill.
