RN is pleased to partner with the National Gallery of Australia (NGA) to offer three winners a trip for two to the nation’s capital to attend the highly anticipated exhibition Turner from the Tate: the making of a master.

Turner from the Tate: the making of a master provides a comprehensive overview of Turner and his artistic development, offering extraordinary insights into his working life and practices. The exhibition consists of 40 oils and 70 works on paper, from large watercolours to intimate sketches. It includes ambitious early works, remarkable paintings of Turner’s late career and culminates with powerful seascapes.

As well as many of Turner’s most famous paintings, Turner from the Tate highlights works never shown previously, and offers fresh perspectives on an artist who was valued as a master in his own time and whose impact was felt as far away as Australia.

For your chance to win a holiday for two to visit the NGA, including flights from your nearest capital city and one night’s accommodation, tell us—in 50 words or less—what Australian scene you would like Turner to paint if he were alive today and why, registering your details using the form below.

TOWNSEND ON TURNER: A SPEAKING TOUR WITH ABC RADIO NATIONAL

Touring with the exhibition is Senior Conservation Scientist and Turner expert, Dr Joyce H. Townsend. Dr Townsend joins RN presenters to discuss Turner’s outstanding career and his enormous output of paintings, sketches, and watercolours.

In these live, public conversations, Dr Townsend will focus on the conservation treatments she has undertaken on these significant works, which feature in the exhibition Turner from the Tate: the making of a master.
