Australian artists covering famous French songs. Luckily, the Melodie Francaise album is much less John Farnham attempting to re-release his discography in a French accent and more 14 really, really beautiful covers from some of our favourite Australian artists; see Gossling, Vance Joy, Lisa Mitchell, Oh Mercy, Big Scary, Thelma Plum, whew, we need to take a breath. To celebrate the CD’s release, the kids behind the making of it have also teamed up with Australia’s favourite French-based shoe brand, Spring Court. Thanks to them we’re giving away some seriously snazzy classic white canvas sneakers in time for spring (famously worn by John Lennon on the Abbey Road album cover), plus a copy of the Melodie Franciase CD.

There are four prize packs to be won, so to be the proud owner of the lot, just spill the beans on your strangest french-based experience in 25 words or less.

This is a game of skill and entrants must complete this question in 25 words or less: “Strangest French-based experience?” The most creative answers will win. 4 winners will receive a prize pack including he Melodie Francaise CD and a pair of Spring Court shoes. Total prize pool value $480. Entries will be judged on 23 August, 2013 at nextmedia Level 6, 207 Pacific Hwy, St Leonards NSW 2065. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. All email addresses collected in the entry form will be added to the Yen Newsletter database.
