Set in hill country, eastern Kentucky, US of A, Justified is a crime drama series like no other, and has been building positively on its viewership thanks to widespread critical acclaim – in particular for its superb acting, directing and writing.

The series stars Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens, a deputy US Marshal insistent on enforcing his own brand of justice. And if that means breaking the rules so as to ensure others start keeping ’em, so be it!

While Season 1 flashed onto TV screens like a dark action comedy series, followed by Season 2 with its gothic crime overtones, and 3 with its host of ever-changing colorful crims seeing the end of their corruptive ways, Season 4 turns up the mystery several notches.

The first episode opens with a flashback to the early ’80s, where a quiet suburban neighbourhood is disrupted by the fatal crash-landing of a parachutist who is carrying massive bags of drugs. Thirty years later, Raylan discovers that his senile father had something to do with this falling man, and that other criminals are beginning to fit into the situation.

With more twists and turns than most gun-slinging TV series, Season 4 of Justified is a must-see for fans, and something to look forward to for new converts.

Justified – the first four seasons are available in a quadrilogy box set on Blu-ray and DVD through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
