When electronic dance music comes to mind, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who can look past the influence of Daft Punk. The French robot duo are hailed as pioneers of the French house genre, French electro and the EDM phenomenon to boot. Since the release of their huge hit single 'Da Funk' in 1995, Daft Punk have enjoyed a wave of success, which they've masterfully co-ordinated into a career of mystique, innovation and music videos in which anthropomorphic dogs find love. It's more or less possible to link all electronic dance music back to Daft Punk in one way or another, and for that, the French robots might just be two of the most influential artists of our generation.
